Stream Prince’s Sign O’ The Times Deluxe Edition Featuring 63 Previously Unreleased Tracks
After a summer’s worth of build-up, the Prince estate and Warner Records have released the expansive deluxe edition of Prince’s 1987 double album Sign O’ The Times. It contains 63 previously unreleased tracks, all culled from Prince’s vault. Some of them are from the trio of scrapped albums that Prince made around that time — Dream Factory, Camille, and Crystal Ball — though it’s not exhaustive in that regard. Some songs that have been percolating through fan communities for decades do not appear here.
But there is a whole lot of material: a remastered version of the original album, a ton of new singles edits and mixes, a whole lot of brand-new songs, and two recordings of Prince concerts from 1987, one in Utrecht and one at Paisley Park.
In advance, the estate and Warner shared two versions of the previously unreleased Witness 4 The Prosecution,” a 1979 version of “I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man,” the unreleased “Cosmic Day,” a studio run-through of “Forever In My Life,” and the unreleased “I Need A Man.”
Now the whole super deluxe edition of Sign O’ The Times is out now for you to peruse at your leisure. Check it out below.
