Drake Joins Chino Pacas & Fuerza Regida On New Song “Modo Capone”

Drake has been keeping an understandably low profile for the past six months or so, but he’ll still pop up with new music every once in a while. A couple of months ago, he dropped three new tracks on his Finsta. Now, he’s singing in Spanish on the new regional Mexican track “Modo Capone.”

“Modo Capone” — Spanish for “Capone Mode” — is credited to the 18-year-old Mexican singer Chino Pacas, and it also features Jesús Ortíz Paz, the singer for the San Bernadino band Fuerza Regida. The track embraces the regional Mexican sound that’s been doing huge numbers around the world over the past few years, though it shifts into something that sounds a bit more like a Drake track toward the end.

This isn’t Drake’s first time singing in Spanish. He collaborated with bachata star Romeo Santos on the 2014 song “Odio” and with Bad Bunny on the 2018 smash “Mia.” But Drake hasn’t tried this in a long time, and he’s certainly never gone for regional Mexican music before. It’s probably a smart move, and he sounds more comfortable than you might imagine. Listen below.
