I don't hear it honestly. I am usually pretty sensible to the lack of audio amplitude and I do think there is a lot of it on both tracks. Any graphs to backup your claim?
Fuck yeah, that was intense. I will listen to it today because of you.
Paternity leave? Congrats Chris!!!
This is an absolutely amazing song. It moved me to tears to see them playing again. In an era so full of simulacrum, these girls are talented, know what they play and feel what they are playn'. Love them more than ever.
Fabulous track. Though thematically they remain in outer space, this is quite a departure musically from Leese Majesty. Perfect track. Good Lord, this is the best news ever.
I want to like this so much, damned.
Tom Breihan and Scott Lapatine writing really moved me this week. Respect.
Your list is perfect, Sir.
Very happy to read só many comments praising R Plus Seven: it's not only my favourite OPN album, but probably the record I had more listen to in the last decade. Such an emotional piece of work.
Good Lord, that's exactly what I feel right now about this record. All flesh, no bones.
I. Am. Ready. (No, I'm not, but I'm excited.)
Tip me a song please. (I think the last one was a blast)
This album has been the big disappointment of the year so far. As a Spoon fan, of course that I think that there must be something wrong with me and that I will give it another try. But, boy, this is the first time I am struggling to like a record from this band.
And that's one amazing album if you ask me.
This guy has really vanished from my listening habbits. His ass used to be beautiful.
"And to celebrate the band is planning..." - you mean the label, right?
Of course he will never sing again like he did on Release the Sunbird, but I am also found of his ageing voice. I want to listen to this in its entirety when I receive my LP, but your comment make me happy in advance. I think the tracks released so far absolutely gorgeous - they remind me of Let's Go Eat The Factory. And Gillard really makes a difference.
Agree with your choices, we have similar tastes! Motivational and Class Clow are indeed the obvious standouts of the era. BUT, with time, my heart has grown founder and founder of Factory and Cool Planet (this one has such a tight rhythm section). Plus, there's the Racetrack EP, perhaps the most charming collection of lo-fi songs they had put together since Earwig.
Oh I can do that. I presume you're talking of GBV post- 2012. Here it goes: 01. My Zodiac Companion (2016) 02. Doughnut for a Snowman (2012a) 03. Class Clown Spots a UFO (2012b) 04. Wow, this is fabulous. Killer track with a video about Rockathon records - I wonder how nobody had thought of that before? Seeing so many Pollard-related records almost brought me to tears. Long live Rockathon, GBV and Tidal!
Guided by Voices with a Tidal exclusive? Everything makes sense in my life.
There's a typo on the title of the article: it's "Album of the decade".
That' record is Portugal in a nutshell.
The father of all of us.
