What about CAST?! Their first record (All Change) was so great, it should have been here. They had two uk top 10 albums I think and their songs were amazing.
What makes Nirvana such a kick ass band is that I could make another Top 10 without repeating any of the songs of your list and it would be as great as yours.
Smells Like Teen Spirit
Breed
In Bloom
Polly
Lounge Act
Staw Away
Pennyroyal Tea
Frances Farmer
Scentless Apprentice
Heart Shaped Box
You Know You're Right
This is great - I was very afraid based on the simple idea of covering such a timeless song (a few disastrous covers come to mind), but I really love it.
This was such a great read, nicely written and super informative. BUT, there's something wrong with most of your links: they replicate the URL of this article.
Congrats for putting two of his christian songs on the list. I've been a compulsive and obsessive fan of Dylan for more than two decades and I do find your list absolutely balanced. The only thing really hard to accept for me is the absence of Brownsville Girl.

Oh and by the way: Alma Matters is a rewrite of Southpaw B-Side Nobody Loves Us. I mean: listen to both and it's quite obvious. Two great songs but I personally prefer NLU.
Wow, what a ballsy way to rank Morrisey's catalogue. But you defended it quite well. Chapeau to that, my friend, Nevertheless, you didn't convince me that:
- Bona Drag should not only on the list but on the top of it;
- Kill Uncle should be the last on that list;
- Vauxhall & I should be waaay higher. (#2)
But again, nice work. Here's a list that surprised me and made me think. And in did Southpaw in utterly underrated and would have been #3 on my list.
Do you really think she's the kind of artist who could make such a huge audience record? I feel that's unlikely to happen: I think she has still a lot of awesome records in her, but she's just too bonkers and idiosyncratic to gain such a big audience. Nevertheless, I think that her studio records show a tamed version of all her amazing creativity. Oh St Vincent, such a puzzling beautiful terrifying little genius.
St Vincent will probably make one day a crazy record that will be super-divisive and I can't wait for it because I think she needs to get out of her comfort zone. Thank God, this is one might just be it.
