that phrase was actually meant to be linked to what we did on the 4th, which was a lo-fi rock festival, so i appreciate you pointing that out. as for the rest, i can't promise i won't write words as it is my job to edit our sites, but i promise to remain distinctive.
I might be reading Tommy wrong (imagine that), but just for the record: I grew up with Phil Haldiman (Denny), and he is most certainly not retarded. In fact, he was a 4.0 kid who won all the spelling bees. If it isn't obvious from that endorsement, we were friends until like 7th grade which is when he moved away. I'm pretty sure he didn't contract mental retardation in his later years, either.
Noah, Avey, and Geologist were in DUMBO on Front Street this weekend, strolled right past our friends and hailed a cab. They looked exactly like they do in this video, just without the creepy dudes at their back.
For me life is one big pubic risk, so that was just an unfortunate slip of the subconscious. You're correct, and I have fixed. Also vowel transposition issue remedied, thanks hunter w.
You are correct, it is fixed. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 ? 5 December 1791), was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era.
Pretty much what d said. Before each of these festivals I stop into my local music gear store and pick up a $12 set of the ER20s
http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.aspx
And promptly lose them within an hour. At that point I rely on whatever swaggy ear protection I can get my hands on. I want to get custom made ones (for fit, but also because they really preserve the music's integrity), but I know I'll just lose them too :(
(Also: Despite the warnings, don't wear them for MBV. Actually being able to hear Kevin and Belinda through the guitar wash is worth any and all permanent loss.)
The headliners are a bit whatever and obviously there are some repeats from other festivals, but I'm psyched for Flying Lotus, Q-Tip, and Pharcyde, and any lineup that brings Akron/Family (new album's great), My Bloody Valentine, YYYs, Shearwater, Elbow, Echo, Mogwai, Tim & Eric, etc. to one bill cannot be called bad. Michael_'s right - it's much more fleshed out which will make the early day sets much more pleasant (and the ferry line delays much more frustrating). Yay for the comedy. Compared to last year, I'm impressed. And still bringing a flask.
Also, Stephin is working with his Coraline friend Neil Gaiman on something secret

Sleepy yes, Watchmen no, but I am seeing it this weekend (Roger Ebert loved it which is enough for me, even if he didn't know the graphic novel beforehand):

Faith No More was my first concert, I was like 10. Bill Idol headlined and had a 50ft. inflatable "L.A. Woman" onstage. He said "Look at the tits on her!" That made my dad almost as uncomfortable as all the pot smoke. He never took me to a concert again. True storraaay.
They were a five piece once, and then they were a trio for Nux Vomica (Sophia Burn on bass, Liam Gerrard on piano), and now a quartet -- the lineup's shifted with each release. Curious to hear this one.
Amber sings that first verse, Angel's in with the Davids on the second. Byrne wrote about it all at length:

Even when Macca's got a new album to promote (which he will), the setlist is heavy on Beatles

Should be fun.
And since Robin reads these, hi Robin I saw you on Bedford last night but it was cold and rainy and I didn't want to shade you out in my hoodie while you got money from the ATM. Considerate!
