Oh, I didn't need to go that far back: http://stereogum.com/344482/premature-evaluation-the-hold-steady-heaven-is-whenever/franchises/premature-evaluation/
You forgot this one: http://stereogum.com/8381/premature_evaluation_tapes_n_tapes_-_walk_it_off/franchises/premature-evaluation/ And a bunch o' others.
yeah, i didn't/don't have an axe to grind. i generally don't grind axes.
hmm. it works for me. are you getting an error message?
well, i did if you consider the minutemen cover on sebadoh III. otherwise, i've previously mentioned missingmen's relation to watt.
Ha ha. This is false. Though JJ is the father of chillwave.
You're not dumb. I forgot about that sample. I'm the dumb one here. Or the one who doesn't remember Wavves samples. Which equals?
You know, I didn't remember that sample at the start of "Cool Jumper," but listening back... it's there.
Good eye! It's the paragraph before it that starts his response. Fixed.
I didn't want to be indelicate up there, but Wavering Radiant was a bit of a snore. Maybe this means more time for Twilight.
"thank you to flatbush farm, milk bar and complete studios" in the credits at vimeo.
ah, thanks for the details, martin.
hey, bisi was not involved. the info i have: "recorded by Jason LeFarge at Seizure's Palace in Brooklyn ... being mixed by Bryce Goggin at Trout Recordings."
I mentioned the "Bastards Of Young" thing when it happened. I forgot about Wax ... for some reason.............
it's true. there've been a number of metal releases of note, so i've done more metal posts.
I hope so. I need to finish it first, then send it around to publishers, etc. Keep getting sidetracked with other smaller projects. But hopefully it's done this year.
Hey. We only printed up a few proper posters, alas, and they're gone. If you write me at tips @ stereogum dot com, though, I can send you a high-res jpg ... better than nothing? Maybe not.
Yeah, it's unclear if his writing goes beyond the sampling of "Ghost Rider." I just saw the writing credit, need to track down more info.
Agreed. The last Funeral Mist was super. (No. 7 on my '09 list, as much as those things matter). I enjoy it when templates are discarded/shifted.
Strange. The link works for me. Try again?
Thanks, ddogdunit. I was looking at water imagery in general in National lyrics. It just happened to be raining that night.
I'm on my way to your house to kill you.
He's playing tomorrow at the MusicNow festival in Cincinnati, but it's probably Hot Chip not Bon Iver at Lollapalooza....
You're right. I was blinded by the SNL association.
You know, I don't remember who headlined, because I left after the National! It was one of those nights. What year was that one? One thing I didn't mention above: When my girlfriend (now wife) and I left to go home from one of those Mercury Lounge shows, we realized someone had stolen her umbrella. So, yeah, rain.
hideous gnosis
Hey. I spoke with one of the bands and they said tickets are $5 at the door, regardless of NYU affiliation? Not sure if that's correct or not, but that's what I was told.
Have you seen High On Fire or Gates Of Slumber live?
Yup. Alcest is from France. Negură Bunget is from Romania. Did you see something that said otherwise?
Thanks for the update, Nathan. I'll change the link so folks make it to the right place. I hope the added traffic didn't implode Kate's site.
