Push def came correct, but I don't think he came off better than Kendrick. Especially when you think about Push in his element as probably the best coke rapper ever. K-Dot was right there with him.
The NBA wasn't even integrated until 1950. White artists have never been legally prevented from making money off of music created by black people. And the majority of NBA owners are white, still making money off of a majority of black players. Not the same.
To me, the title "best rapper alive" is misleading and can be interpreted a couple different ways. Hov was not dead, he was retired. Nas is still alive. Big Daddy Kane is alive. Rakim is alive. Mos Def is alive. A bunch of cats were still alive that you could throw into the conversation. "Best rapper currently" is more accurate, then you have an argument. Admittedly it would have been corny to say "I'm the best rapper currently" or "I'm the best rapper right now" though. So I don't think you're wrong, but the convo is bigger to me.
