A bit too far down the comment thread perhaps but still have to urge everyone looking for other great Weezer songs to check out All My Friends Are Insects. I'm not joking when I say it's one of my favorite Weezer tracks post Pinkerton, and fittingly enough it was written for Yo Gabba Gabba, but this is the one case where Rivers' lyrics are dumb on purpose and the music is just.
Also Burndt Jamb which is weirdly missing here is EASILY the best Weezer track after Pinkerton, such a great, weird and incredible track. I wish more people talked about it. I know I do all the time.
Cleopatra is so good. I just listened to EWBAITE again yesterday for the first time in at least 2 years and it still sounds really great, which I can't say about a lot of post-Pinkerton Weezer (and I should note that they're a top 10 band for me)
Why are they releasing over half the album in advance though?? My guess is they're trying to do some sort of damage control since all the singles were pretty badly received (and apart from FLS have pretty much tanked), but since none of these songs were good I'm not sure it's really helping them.
It really seems like this is going to be their worse album yet
I like that Damon is doing dance features now. His song with Mura Masa is incredible (the whole album is, really). Kinda makes up for that lackluster Gorillaz album
I appreciate this joke a lot but honestly as far as Yngwie goes this was pretty decent (maybe it gets worse after the first three minutes, I couldn't bother listening further)
Small addendum - Weird Fishes is without a doubt my favorite song of all time, and the Nude>Weird Fishes>All I Need stretch is my favorite song stretch on a record, ever. Crushing beauty.
Happy birthday to my favorite album of all time.
To me it's not only the best Radiohead album, it's the most touching, beautiful and strongest set of songs I've ever heard. There are songs that I can't listen to without having to shout the words along, others where I can't listen through without coming to the verge of tears, and some songs where I find myself singing along and crying every single time (I'm talking about you, ending part to All I Need).
For me this is the one album that got everything right - perfect songwriting, where every chorus sounds like you've heard it before, every melody is in place, every bass line is crucial; perfect atmosphere; and most of all, pure, raw emotion, where I feel as if every song is a distilled feeling put to music.
I remember where I was the first time I heard this album, unboxing stuff in my new room when I was 14. I remember long hard nights in my army service where listening to In Rainbows was the only thing that kept me sane. I remember turning to this album in nights of heartbreak, and in days of bright love. I remember driving hundreds of times with this album, singing every song, and always breaking down at least twice mid way and finally when Videotape hits with full power.
This might not be Radiohead's "greatest artistic statement", or their "magnum opus". but It's definitely their purest, most beautiful work to date, and probably ever. And we're more than lucky to have it in the world.
This song is mostly interesting in a good way but I feel the whack chorus kinda ruined it for me. Still a bit better than New York but not nearly as good as Los Ageless. Still looking forward to this album but I'm not nearly as hyped as I thought I'd be which is a shame
I literally just found out about her and listened to her EP maybe 30 minutes ago and it was fucking great, did she announce any album or just releasing a whole bunch of singles??
I love AM, and I loved everything they've done before it (Favourite Worst Nightmare is probably in my top 5 of all time), but I'm ready for another era of Arctic Monkeys. I feel like their "sleaze rockers" shtick might have worn out and will not go well with fans and in general. I feel like they have it in them to make music that's exciting and bouncing and energetic again - because while I really adore AM, I always prefered the more energetic punky side of them.
Or they can screw that and make a hip-hop influenced stoner rock album. that would also be satisfying.
Nope! that's some crazy Danish story! Ours just has to do with alleged bribery and corruption that led to purchase of expensive unnecessary submarines for the navy. Not that interesting to talk about but might have very interesting outcomes!
