If there's no Abbath feature on this thing SOMEONE'S going to be very pissed
You probably don't need me to tell y'all this, but go see him. His current live show is just insanely good. The new songs sound huge and amazing and almost everything else also got new versions which are mind blowing. Don't miss out on this
Walter Schreifels is a true hero. Not one bad project. I'm psyched
well, at least it's not the 1975
Been listening on repeat since this album find its way to the internet a few days ago. It's simply beautiful music. Every further listens opens up new sounds and new melodies, it just packs so much. One of the year's best albums so far, if not the AOTY
Yes! The drumming is really fucking beautiful on this thing
It's crazy to imagine these guys opening for Fall of Troy today
They wanted to make sure you know you aren't listening to Portugal the country
I fucking love The Satanic Satanist and has been a big fan of it since it came out, but they got progressively worse with each listen for me. Evil Friends was fine (though I can't say I remembered anything off of it a year later) - but that new album is really borderly unlitenable. Couldn't even make it the whole way through, it's just really not good. "Feel It Still" just feels to me like a lesser version of "Pumped Up Kicks" which was a pretty bad (but catchy as hell) song itself
I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism in Your Yearbook
The registered trademark symbol makes it even worse
Do You Wanna Get High? is amazing, this one really isn't. I'll give them the benefit of doubt like I always have since Red but I just know I'm going to get disappointed again
I would've said I hope it's another case of weakish lead single that leads to an otherwise pretty good album, but seeing that Feels Like Summer is on this pretty much killed any hope I had. Oh well, it was a good 2-album run while it lasted
I thought the headline said Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and it sounded like an infinitely more interesting concept
Rumor is he wanted to but Bon Iver threatened to sue
3 is definitely the limit. But what I hate even more is when the singles are all one after another on the album, like the new Grizzly Bear or Arcade Fire. It takes you 4 songs to actually get to one you don't know yet
Yeah, agrees. Like when R U Mine ended up on AM, or how the 2 Beck singles that have been around for over a year and pretty ubiquitous since are going to be on Colors
Last year before White Album dropped Rivers was around and I asked him to promise me the record will be great, and he did, and it was. So I'm going to try this one more time - Rivers, if you're around - please be another great album, because I don't know what to expect!
Someone's gotta rep the scene, man
They didn't play this when I saw them but it was an amazing show nontheless. This is a very good song, liking it better then I Can Tell You About Pain. although Eve is the best one so far. Extremely excited for this, AWLWLB might be their best album so far
"Cold Cave mastermind" is nice and all but Wes Eisold is first and foremost the Give Up the Ghost / Some Girls mastermind
You mean this week, with Grizzly Bear (!!!) and Everything Everything. Then it's QOTSA and Thee Oh Sees (which is a great fuckin album), then DFA1979 and National... aaah fuck this is going to be a great few months
Their best? Arc was pretty fucking great so that's a high bar to pass. Hoping you're right (but also know I'm probably going to be listening to nothing but Grizzly Bear for the next week or so, at least until QOTSA is officialy out)
Jaguar Love (not really, but that's a name you haven't heard in a while)
what the actual fuck. this year has been insane!! are you trying to tell me we'll get new Glassjaw this year too!?

@plastic pants: you are right
I feel it too but that's very much a great thing
yeah, not sure I get it either. a lot of nice descriptors but not a single world suggesting whether Ryan finds the music good or not. even the fb post about the article was basically "here's a review of an album that is new"
yeah, these syndicated Billboard / AP articles are almost always waaaaaay too long for absolutely no reason
This is hands down my most expected album of 2017. In the 5 years that passed since Shields (which was, and is, a stunning and incredible work of art), I've come to appreciate Grizzly Bear infinitely more than before. I've connected with their music in new and different ways. The four singles have been a fucking treat, with each song stronger than the one before (though Three Rings is still my favorite). I don't remember when was the last time I waited for so long for an album I was so excited about, and Friday really couldn't come sooner
That's a song that never ceases to amaze me no matter how many times I listen to it. Gun-shy is also severely underappreciated and utterly beautiful
I get the reasoning, but we both now those articles work x100 times better when people have actually heard the album somehow, legally or otherwise. In those cases we get a strong comment section where people can actually discuss what they've listened to, and not just have that discussion relegated to the SUD of that week. That's a shame, especially when we're taking about what may very well be the AOTY based on what we've heard so far
Nah fam it's fucking good and it fits greatly on the album. Will agree that it wasn't the best first single, especially now that this one is out, but I'm 100% sure that if it was just an album cut no one would have complained about it
As if there was ever a reason to worry. There's not single producer who can make this band any less incredible
I've admittedly been listening to a shot quality leak on repeat for the past 24 hours and FUCK if this record is so incredibly ass kicking in that quality I can't start imagining what it would sound like when I actually own a physical copy. Another straight killer
Man that Brockhampton track bangs
