Woke up yesterday and on a whim got plane tickets to Barcelona to attend Primavera Sound in 2 days. Been constantly listening to Arcade Fire since and I'm really fucking excited to finally see them live. Guess they're going to debut a bunch of new material there (they're playing on Saturday, so a day after the new song is out)
I saw them last year and it was fun but nothing crazy. I would probably have gone with Tool and I'm not even a fan or anything, just think that live show would be 100x better
Some of it was fucking great. I'm especially fond of the first Washed Out EP, Small Black's New Chain, Neon Indian's Psychic Chasms and some Memory Tapes releases from that era
Fell on Black Days really came together for me today. I've also been re-listening to both Badmotorfinger & Superknown today and man, I forgot how good these were. What a bummer
Just yesterday I went to a screening of "Supersonic", the docu film about them, and it was a pretty fucking fun watch. Only complaint was that not even once during the whole film did Liam use the P-word
This is some serious bullshit. I remember listening to them a shit ton in my teens, then re discovering them while I was in my first year of military service. I remember Black Hole Sun being one of the first "real" songs I learned to play on guitar. What an amazing voice and songwriter. Such a terrible loss
Remember before The Colour in Anything came out where he said it's going to include a 20-minute track? Can we get that pretty please? I'm dying to hear that
In all seriousness though: Three Rings is simply phenomenal, on first listen this track is really great. I'm really looking forward to this album, I've got a great feeling about this
I was really into their debut at the time and Belong was pretty good, and I'm pretty sure I listened to Days of Abandon a couple times when it came out, but I have zero recollections of doing that nor any idea what it sounds like. This track is solid though, hope this record turns out better than the last one did
Fargo S03 is ON POINT. Better Call Saul also fucking rules as always. Finished Legion a few days ago, it's a bit too much at times but check it out if you're into great visuals and elaborate mindfucks.
Can't wait to start watching the new Silicon Valley and Master of None. Also heard great things about American Gods but I've been 200 pages from finishing the book in forever now so I gotta do that before I start watching
Yes! The Stereogum comment section's unsung hero returns. This is fun. Hopefully means another album on the horizon (although, you know, would also be cool to get that new VW album at some point)
Fuck Numb. That was always the worst song on that album even when I was in sixth grade.
The best one was Faint, which I've confirmed a few weeks ago I still remember all the lyrics to
