I take it the new version of "Slide On Me" isn't included only because that song was kinda released on Endless? Because it's unbelieveable.
Also that Palm song is fantastic, thanks for including it here
The tweets from this thing are incredible. One of the attendees found a notebook of some staff member in which, 2 weeks before the festival was supposed to start, one of the listed "missions" was "GO TO THE FESTIVAL SITE AT SOME POINT".
That's just amazing.
I'm so excited for this. I've been re-listening to Souvlaki this week and it holds up so well, it's such a beautiful album. I also managed to forget how fucking great Star Roving is.
Best of all, Slowdive are coming to play here in September, and I'm fucking pumped for that. Going to be a sweet, sweet show
YES!!!!! One of the best songs he's ever done. I fucking love it.
It also really reminds me of "Two Arrows" from the new Real Estate album, same song structure (although the Real Estate build up is more Beatles indebted) and vibe and also my favorite from that record
I can't say about anything else by this dude but I fucking love XO TOUR LLIF3. I don't know why but I can't stop bumping this shit. I would've suggested it as this year's summer hit but the lyrics are kinda too dark for that
Something with my speaker settings was extremely fucked up the day DAMN dropped so I had to restart the album everytime I got to DNA as to not spoil it. In the process I think I've logged maybe 50 listens to BLOOD, so y'all can thank me for that
Ah, fuck. Hit submit by mistake. Let's try that again:
I can guarantee you that most of the ticket buyers to this show, much like to the rest of the "internationl" artists that come to Israel, are not among the government's supporters (save for maybe the crowds for Tommorowland-esque bro DJs that cone here all too often). Speaking as one myself, Radiohead fans here are mostly the liberal, left-voting type much like any other Radiohead fan in the world.
I can also tell you that usually the response to artists cancelling shows here is the same: the artist's fans, usually the ones against our country's actions, are mostly sad about not being able to see one of their favorite artists, while knowing that an indie artist cancelling a 1,000 capacity gig will not affect any decision maker in any way, and the right-wing majority who have no knowledge of who the artist is anyway are driven even further into their opinion that "all boycott is antisemitic" and "everyone's a hypocrite for only blaming Israel".
If anything, I believe that any artist can make the strongest points against Israel, or any other government, by actually coming to that country and making any statement they want to while in that place and in front of the local audience. Otherwise those messages are just completely lost and disregarded by the public, except bumming the fans
I don't think it should be that though of a decision. Granted, I'm in Israeli myself, so you might not take my opinion on this matter as very objective, but I can guarantee you
I'm pretty sure they knew what they were getting themselves into beforehand. They have been here multiple times before and chose to avoid playing here since 2000, despite most of them visiting here since. So I highly doubt that
A fair share of artists cancelled shows here after announcing them, but none of them were artists who already sold over 25k tickets. Some of these artists have come to play here after already cancelling due to BDS (namely the Pixies, who are coming back for 2 shows later this year after playing Tel Aviv in 2014 and cancelling in 2011)
Holy damn this is just great. I hope he releases more of those Endless tracks as singles / any "official" version, because the sound quality on this is just so much better
Guess that means my borderline harsh noise remix of Chocolate Rain, fittingly titled "Chocolate Pain", is celebrating its anniversary as well. Hope it aged as well as the source material did
To be fair, it's Metacritic lowest user-rated album this year. Which means that there's some sane people in the world, although they seem to be outnumbered by the ones who actually bought or listened to this shit
