One of my favorite people that I've met while traveling earlier this year was a British guy who is a huge rap fan. We always argued on who was better, Kanye (me) or Drake (him). The one thing we both could agree on was that Kendrick was blowing everyone else out of the water these days
I mean, that track is unbelievably shitty, but it doesn't say anything about him being less popular. The trick wouldn't work if he didn't have major hits that prove to be popular time after time. It just means that whatever achievements his new albums receive are pretty much bullshit (same thing goes to the "double albums count as more sales" shit he pulled off on both of his last releases)
The Dirty Projectors album is one of the best that came out so far this year, so I'm certainly all for something that is equally good or even better, as that means we get two excellent works of in a year. On the other hand I'm not sure why this is a competition
Here McDonald's serve a completely different recipe, and bigger portions. However, it costs almost as much as a real burger in a real restaurant, so fuck that shit
Sheesh, guess that Mastodon album isn't really that good huh? tbh I'm looking forward to hearing it but I never even listened to the last one as The Hunter was somewhat a miss for me.
Can't wait to hear the new Toro y Moi joint and also the new (GOAT album art contender) Freddie Gibbs
FJM is pretty surely getting a Premature Eval. (it's been available for a while as well), and even if Kendrick "surprisingly" drops an album (hope he does!!) I'm pretty sure there won't be any advance copies, so not eligible either...? So... I'm guessing that leaves Future Islands for AOTW (not a big fan personally, but sure)
Enjoyed B4.DA.$$ as well. But I don't remember it getting too much press either at the time...? Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like it wasn't very talked about either when it actually dropped
YES LAWD. Those are all pretty damn good. Andromeda is the shit. Do you think it's possible that Damon and co. had to move forward the announcement date because of the tracklist/vimeo leak though? not that I'm complaining
I mean, I'm not /not/ considering it an album, I just feel like there's some distinction between the two (similar to how More Life isn't an album but some other bullshit name for a project). I like Endless more than Blonde most of the time too so I'm on your side! (Also, writing that comment was worth it if only for your intro~)
I would say Nostalgia Ultra is a mixtape, because it was released for free online and (as far as I know) never *officialy* released in any other format. On the same note I personally wouldn't call "Endless" an album, If anything it's some kind of "compilation" (not really, but for a lack of a better term)
I saw Thundercat live last night. What a fucking virtuoso. This guy fucking slaps live. Also his live drummer Justin Brown is a fucking maniac. Catch him on tour, the Drunk songs are great!
ahh damn it to hell. When looking from my phone your comment is normal, but from a computer it reads as "I a , Josh.". when looking like that it's pretty weird that comment have a +27 (and counting)
