So great that of Montreal are covering Jacco Gardner! Dude is extremely underrated, Hypnophobia is one of my 2015 favorites, and that's a perfect choice for a cover. Beach Slang covering Japandroids should also be smash.
Favorite Cudi guest hook? Mine is either on "Gorgeous" or "Guilt Trip" (which is also the most underrated and possibly my favorits from Yeezus)
MotM II is really great. Haven't listened to any of his following projects but he still nails perfect hooks
Can't wait to bask in this book in all of its 34-page glory
Not better than the debut. The debut is untouchable. An instant classic if I've ever heard one
The last KFC in the country closed about 3-4 years ago so I hate craving that shit
Jackson might be as good of not better, but yeah those are their 2 best songs by far
You just listed 4 of my 2014 top ten in this post
The problem with 2014 is that I found out most of my favorite 2014 albums only on 2015
Ad block doesn't filter all of the ads. Especially not those giant KFC banners on the sides
Orange Juice is my favorite Odd Future related song (ok, not including Frankie). It's so good. Or makes a perfect use of the beat too (I much prefer it over Guwop's version tbh)
And i'd sure as shit would love to hear a Weezer version of "King of the Beach"
I love this. Sounds like the (great) original but still sounds like Wavves. It's love a full Wavves album of Weezer covers tbh
I have one of those compilations that could be easily found online, which is supposed to represent what "Songs from the Black Hole" would have sounded like. It's actually made of pieced together album tracks, b-sides, leaked songs and some Rivers demos, and it's fucking great
You said Donny and now I miss daddy all of a sudden
I was sure that was just my old-ass computer. Good to know everyone else is suffering too
We're not peak anything until there's an LMFAO boxset
He's probably regretting wishing for that burner now
Coincidentally I'm also wearing my Blue Album shirt right now btw
The Weezer side is actually one track called "Fake Smiles and Nervous Laughter". Also this is an amazing thing and I'm very excited
Right? Morello seriously was the shit. Kinda sad that he hasn't made anything worthwhile in all that years (ok, quick confession: I really liked Street Sweeper Social Club when they started. But then again I was about 15)
I didn't have a chance to listen yet but if this is even slightly as good as LOSE then I'm going to be very happy
It's pretty bad, but not as bad as the actual song
This is a very good chance to remind everyone that Baio's The Names is an underrated gem. This also sounds quite nice, and the album will be definitely worth checking out, as is anything involving anyone from VW
HELL TO THE YES. Hope some of those Trent Reznor collabs (or, y'know, new ones) see the light of day soon too
The Sun's Tirade is pretty fucking great. I'm liking it a lot and it's growing on me more and more. Great vibe album, and it fares up really well to the two other massive TDE releases that came out this year
I love this musically, but so far I'm not very fond of Mike's vocals on those singles. I read that the vocal delivery is similar to his stuff as Owen (I admit I've never really listened to those albums), but I really love the vocals on the previous s/t. I know I'm not going to get those, I just hope the new vocals grow on me. The drums are extremely great here though, and so is the outro. This is shaping to be a neat and pretty album.
Brand New Car, Easy Rider, Baby Blue. all fantastic as well. I'm also very fond of City Boy Blues but I may be the only one
I saw Thee Oh Sees on Wednesday. For a long minute during the show I was sure I had dislocated my shoulder (I hadn't, but it still hurts like a mf). They also played Contraption for about 30 minutes. Craziest show I've been to in years
I saw them twice this year, in two different arenas, and both shows have been some of the best I've ever attended. They somehow managed to step up their game between the two shows too (which were in the span of a month!). Also fuck yes confetti is the shit
Not gonna lie though, I found out about Stranger Things because people were talking about it in the comment section (I also think Tom mentioned it on one article when it came out too). So I'm ok with that
Just to be clear: I meant buying merch from the US when living outside of it, not the other way around
Let me add to the merch discussion that trying to buy merch from outside the US/UK is EXTREMELY FUCKING EXPENSIVE. I wanted to but so many shirts by so many different bands so many times (mostly bands I know I'll never have a chance of seeing live) and the shipping is so fucking pricy it's never worth it. I remember not buying shirts I was dying to have because the shipping price would actually double the cost of the shirt for me. I know a lot of that is not necessarily the label's fault, but come on, try to have some stock in Europe to cut on the shipping prices. It's really awful.
The James Blake ft. Vince version of Timeless is premiering tonight at BBC1!! can't fucking wait, the live version killed it
