At least it's pretty cool that we finally get an official release for this (incredible) track. There simply can't be enough Sampha for this world
Just a reminder that Too is a fucking great and extremely fun album
All it took to make me check this out were the words "math-punk" and I was not disappointed at all. This is fucking great!!
What a banger! Danny's on Warp now? That's some great news, makes me even more excited to hear whatever he's going to drop next.
Really cool that you enjoyed the CSH set so much. I caught him in the other Primavera, and it was fun, but it still felt kinda lackluster. It was the first show I caught thay day and it mostly felt lacking in energy.. Although Vincent sounded amazing and when he ended it with the Paranoid Android cover I was thrilled. Hopefully catch him again soon!
That's true, it was pretty surprising to see him in a tucked-in white shirt and his jeans folded just above his ankles. Maybe after that Sprite deal he's reaching out to that American Apparel sponsorship
I like how every single festival breakdown I've read on this or any other site the past couple of years always has at least a paragraph dedicated to Vince Staples and his incredible live show. Gotta admit that this was one of the main reasons I decided to miss on Explosions in the Sky to go see his set in Primavera (the other reason being, well, that I fucking love Summertime '06). He totally deserves every good word written about him
Just a random comment on an old enough story to check if I can figure out how to master the arts of the comment. Although I do kind of hope someone would find this... kinda.
This sounds like it will be a great album opener, much like Newspaper Spoons was for the (previous) s/t. Cover art and song titles are ON POINT so I'm almost willing to forgive the lame name. Can't wait for this!!
should clarify that this is the good kind of hot shit
that's some hot shit. I also caught about half of Vince's set at Primavera and it was incredibly fun. I like this dude so much
Just kidding man, I'm from Israel. We don't get too much cool shit.
I finally saw Titus Andronicus live last week! It was so incredibly fun. It was also basically the only punk-ish show I caught at Primavera because I had to miss Ty Segal and Thee Oh Sees, so I had a lot of steam to get out on that show. Anyway, it was the fucking best. My new avatar is me having the time of my life at that show. Have a great weekend everyone and Titus Andronicus Forever!
I sat next to Julien Baker in a restaurant in Barcelona after seeing her perform at Primavera. I was too shy to tell her she's the best. But if she reads this - You're the fucking best Julien
Of course, not a single participating store in the whole country... Guess I'll just have to listen to it all day by myself (aka Friday)
That Mai Lan video is the strangest\greatest video I've seen since that Kimbra one for "90s Music". That was simply insane
Decks Dark is the fucking greatest. My #1 on AMSP without a doubt. I lost my shit when they I saw them play it last week. as for the rest: 1. Decks Dark 2. The Numbers 3. Present Tense 4. Ful Stop 5. Identikit 6. Daydreaming 7. Burn the Witch 8. Glass Eyes 9. True Love Waits (I just feel like the live acoustic version is the definitive one, so I find it a lot harder to connect with this one) 10. Tinker Tailor 11. Desert Island Disk
Can't wait to hear his Down With the Sickness cover in the next round!
Me too! They didn't really talk or anything but they seemed like they were having fun and they sounded fantastic
I was also lucky enough to be at both of those shows, and there aren't enough words I can use to describe how amzing they were. Those have been my 2nd & 3rd times seeing them and it might have been two of the best experiences of the whole weekend. I only saw them before the breakup in 2009, in a short and not wholly satisfying set which nontheless won me over. I wasn't the biggest fan back then but the band had so much energy live that it completely change my feelings and views on their music. I never actually believed I'd see them again, and I was the reunion's biggest skeptic, but those two shows just last week were something else. The club show is probably in my top concert experiences, ever. So long story short: I'm really glad they are back and I'm even happier so many people get to experience them in all their might. The band is on top of their game right now and it's something you shouldn't miss off you get the chance!
They're actually not a trio, the (great) keyboardist is part of the band! I saw them perform some months ago, had such a blast. This performance is so much fun too!
I'm SO JEALOUS man. I missed both shows. For some reason I thought it would be OK to miss him at the festival because I really wanted to see Moderat too and I thought I would catch him at the Apollo the next day, and than I heard about this crazy fucking thing. Then on the second night I waited outside the Apollo for about an hour before realizing I already missed Ty and that I am never going to get in the place. Oh well. Still going to try and catch him ASAP. All those stories from the shows sound amazing.
Milo Goes to College is perfect. I Don't Want to Grow Up is also incredible. Have fun man!
Oohhhh boy!! This year keeps getting better. Fucking love Descendents! I really hoped they'd finally have something new this year but I never actually thought that would happen!
Treats was fantastic but I never got into Reign of Terror as much. I remember being pretty let sown by it. I didn't even try to listen to Bitter Rivals. Maybe it's time to revisit RoT to see if I missed anything
I'm not really sure what to make out of this one. Some of it is great, some of it not very good, and it transitions between the two within the span of seconds. The outro is pretty great though.
Funny enough thus isn't the first tube this happened. Last year I saw the Strokes in Hyde Park, and Beck was on the bill as a "special guest" which really meant he had a 1 hour set before the Strokes went on the same stage. Though I must say, I'm a pretty big Beck fan, and he had a fantastic set, but on that day The Strokes were a lot better
One of the most enjoyable dj sets I've ever been to. It sounded amazing and the crowd was fucking WILD. So glad these guys are back
I couldn't catch their show beacuse I was waiting for Tame Impala, but it sounded fantastic and the video was played on the screen next to the stage and looked amazing. Those almost-conflicts are very hard as well apparently
It's so great. Yesterday at the park where Primavera is they sold shirts with Wildflower written on them and the flag from the cover, so I figured they will announce something soon. This is a fucking great track. I really have my hopes up now for tomorrow that maybe DOOM will show up... A man can dream
Goat were great! I ended up missing all the ciutat show because getting there was hell. But it's all ok because tomorrow we're getting Car Seat Headrest, LCD Soundsystem, Vine Staples and Tame Imapla!!
I think I'll go with White Fence even though he has another set on the forum.. I also can't wait to see Goat. I think their set will be, ummm... GOAT?
I'm here at the LCD pre fest show. If anyone else is here or on the way, enjoy! The venue is crazy!
Agreed. I'm here and I have no idea how I'm going to make it through
Still owe you for White Reaper. Seeing them live next week (CSH too). Will let you know how that is!
Oh yeah almost forgot but here it goes - GUYS I FINALLY HEARD TEENS OF DENIAL IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD OH MY GOD. Vincent is currebtly my favorite. Going to listen on repeat for the next week. Thank you everyone for saying ao many good things avout it, you was right
