It's not broken, it's just that Spotify isn't available here, so I can't be a part of all the fun. I double checked the list, and all my favorites are in there! Weird Fishes is my #1! (It's probably my alltime #1 song as well). I'm not that big on Let Down though, I would probably replace it with Exit Music or The National Anthem. But the rest is pretty much on point!
They don't want us to know about 311
Sounds pretty good! I'm staying at what I understand is the city center, so hopefully those concerts are close by. It's my first time in Barcelona too so I'm looking forward to seeing some Gaudy and eating great tapas!
How good is that Skepta album tho??!
(I'm being sarcastic bloc, don't come at me!)
I can't check the playlist. Want to share the top ten so I can ridicule you and state arrogantly that you are very wrong?
bsb's dilemma: Okkervil River vs. Thee Oh Sees
That sounds incredible!! Yeah I'm there until Monday. I don't really understand how the stuff that's not at the festival site works. I saw that we get an extra Ty set, and also Black Lips, Mudhoney and extra-awesome-Avalanches set, but couldn't really figure out where exactly is that going on?? Anyway it's going to be my first Primavera (after I had to miss out in 2014) and I'm really fucking excited
Also THat Part and the new Stone Roses were great!
It's either Decks Dark / The Numbers for me. I'm talking SOTY though.
OK now I read above that you already saw them twice and am jealous
Unfortunately I'll have to skip Beach Slang this time around. I'm pretty bummed about Thee Oh Sees as it is. but seriously, don't miss that show. They fucking rule live.
GUYS it's been such a great week. I'm in a 5-day weekend due to holiday & birthday, I've been enjoying great weather and the beach, AND I've had a stunning brand new Radiohead album to accompany me during the whole thing. Life can be crazy good sometimes! I've been listening to that Kaytranada album those past few days, it's really great! Like that stuff a lot. Can't wait to hear the new Head Wound City record which is probably going to rule. Finally, happy birthday to fellow May-bros Bloc & Lemon. stay lit!
Also you forgot to mention that Thee Oh Sees (best live band in the world) clashes with LCD Soundsystem (4th-5th best live band in the world) which is fucking harsh. I know I'll be seeing LCD but I'm pretty bummed. Oh yeah, and there's Kamasi vs. Air, Ty Segall vs. Moderat... :(
That Radiohead vs. Everyone-else-that-I-love clash there is pretty fucking harsh. I was looking forward so much into seeing Dino Jr. again because they're the fucking best and now the dream's crushed. On the other hand I'll be seeing Radiohead so screw everything else!
I plan to! Waiting for Teens of Denial to drop. The singles were all stellar. I'm also supposed to see him in a few weeks at Primavera and I feel like it's going to be a great show
Why Radiohead though? Isn't it just not on Spotify? I don't think it's exclusive anywhere (I know it's both on TIDAL and Apple Music, and also Google Play I think?)
Easily one of the best performers I've ever seen. Last year he played a show in Tel Aviv and he ended up crowdsurfing for about 7-8 minutes, all the way up to the second floor of the venue and back down, all while smoking a cigarette. It was incredible
Look I don't know all that much about Car Seat Headrest (yet!), but based on this statement alone I can tell I like this guy a whole fucking lot. He's handling a very shitty situation with so much class. Truly superb
also this is a great track
saw them last year, wasn't really into them before, but they put a great show that made me appreciate the music a lot more
If Weezer don't get featured in an X-Men comic with Kitty Pryde I'm going to be really dissapointed
I guess you could say that award was Taylor made
would you watch their sex tape though?
Halfway through reading you comment I started thinking "where does Ted Nugent fit in all this?". You did not disappoint.
Agreed 100%. The Bends is such a high watermark album from that period. It encapsulates everything I love about the 90's and Britpop and is probably the genre's strongest offering despite not really being britpop at all (I am a HUGE Blur fan, and The Bends is a better album than each single album in Blur's amazing career IMO). I feel like people tend to overlook it because it was made before Radiohead's "Important Artist" period, but it's a masterpiece of songwriting and composition, and a lot of the time it's my favorite album of theirs.
The title also works perfectly well!

Also that P4K 8.2 is TOTAL BULLSHIT. seriously. It's better than almost everything else that came out this year and it's easily as good if not better than his debut, which got a 9.0. I personally liked Overgrown way more and that album only got a 8.0 (not even a BNM!). fuck you p4k, you better give AMSP at least 12/10
Agreed on all counts. I feel bad for myself too because I really want to give that album so many more listens but I can't leave A Moon Shaped Pool aside just yet. I will make it up to you Jimmy
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
I'd rank The Bends above Amnesiac (yeah. I'm that guy). but other than that your rankings are perfect
Yeah, that might be pushing it too far but it seems like a very p4k thing to do. They haven't given an album a 10 in 6 years, and I feel like they'd want to draw back all the readers that were scared away by the Conde Nast takeover (i.e. the black sheep boys of the world). It's also a beautiful "comeback" album after a few years of critical decline of the band/band members' output (I mean, everything after TKOL that was released by anyone not named Johnny Greenwood got less than a 7 IIRC)... so I guess (hope) they'll laud it appropriately.
I'm not sure why I was shouting sorry if I scared you
You're finally old enough to understand
who the fuck downvoted you?
