Maybe I hedged a little on that one... I didn't realize the 'Pretty Odd' hive was that strong! But it is pretty damn good, right?
"Northern Downpour"!!!
I've been doing a lot of long drives recently so I've regrettably softened on podcasts because I'm bored a lot :( But I don't like listening to music ones cus I think about music all day!
'Black Panther' songs were barely in the movie, so I didn't count it. (I didn't think the score was all that, either.)
And the 'Phantom Thread' soundtrack was technically released this year, so I paired it up with another Greenwood score since it missed last year's list 'cus it wasn't out by the time it was published.
Quick author's note down here: I haven't seen If Beale Street Could Talk yet so I didn't include it, but judging by the soundtrack it probably would have made it on here.
Also Suspiria was 85% bad - don't come at me! Thom's score was especially messily used. Some of those songs are great on their own but in the context of the movie are totally lifeless.
Ok thanks!
I know you didn't mean anything bad by this, but this makes me a little sad because what I care about most/cover a lot of here is indie rock that like nobody listens to :( I like some pop but I definitely don't consider that my lane.
yawn this is such a boring take that i shouldn't even justify it with a response but it's called https://www.stereogum.com/music/ and it's literally existed for like, a decade sis
Thanks, glad to hear from someone who has already seen it. I was definitely on the fence for a lot of the movie, but the last 30 minutes or so sold me on its twisted shit. I could absolutely see walking away from this hating it, though, but honestly it's nice to have a movie about music and fame that doesn't play it safe or easy. (Looking at you, A Star Is Born.) Obviously we differ on the takeaway, hope you didn't think it was a total waste of time.
Curious to know what you thought of Spring Breakers, cus I feel like that's a film it has a lot in common with tonally and has been similarly divisive.
"This site" has a lot of different people with a lot of different opinions and also I'm not deriding anything in this article, I'm talking about a film that has a very specific point of view. There's no right or wrong here.
What ya talkin about I love Glass Candy! "Warm In The Winter" is indeed the best IDIB song, followed closely by "Beautiful Object"
but this list bout Chromatics
Oh don't worry there's many more where that came from

Amazon Prime has an OK selection... old Match Game, Family Feud, Password, that sort of thing. Stuff that used to be on Game Show Network but if you don't have cable anymore it hits the spot.
