I would like to hear that
Also happy 19th birthday to Stereogum today https://twitter.com/scottgum/status/1344883494191828992
No these are the 28 best songs of the year
yup $$$ https://www.ispot.tv/ad/ne_i/ford-summer-sales-event-make-the-most-song-by-kygo-whitney-houston-t2
I like Steve Winwood a lot more than Tom! "Valerie" still goes. Also Traffic had their moments! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo3lxKrjABE&ab_channel=MikeBaker
no Music Videos list this year. What were your favorites?
I did a book report on the novelization of KK2 in 3rd grade lol. Last year I told my daughter she should learn this song on piano. 6/10 https://www.instagram.com/p/B7WDpQWF_2u/
Us is one of my favorite albums of all time, and seeing PG up close headlining Woodstock ‘94 was pretty incredible. We interviewed him for Stereogum many years ago and he was a nice fellow and signed my Games Without Frontiers vinyl.
I saw Tonic open at an ironic '90s Festival in Williamsburg a few years ago. The lineup was Tonic, Blind Melon, Naught By Nature, Lisa Loeb, Smash Mouth, and Coolio. Pauly Shore emceed. It rained the whole time.
1. s/t 2. Abacab 3. Invisible Touch 4. We Can’t Dance 5. Duke 6. Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 7. Selling England By The Pound ... 15. Calling All Stations
I always thought it was Invisible Talk Show when I was a kid
it's no "Evidence Of Autumn" but 6 seems low
Still working through bugs related to the new templates! We have already fixed like 25-30, and the things you mentioned are among those remaining. We are very much not done with the "new site," but it's rolling out in phases. An entirely new commenting system is coming soon enough so that should alleviate any login issues.
AMonks' mgr recently told NME no “proper work” had begun: “I’m hoping that next year, when the restrictions lift, we’ll be able to get together and get on with it.” So 2021 didn't seem that realistic imo, but maybe.
Yeah we considered Beach House but seemed to speculative to include
Same, would've included!
We actually never discussed — this wasn't intentional, but worked out NICEly
agggh oversight! https://www.instagram.com/p/CIRJ1bUJiQ2/

Funniest part of With Honors is the scene that is accidentally mirror image so the text on Joe Pesci’s Harvard sweatshirt is reverse – very dumb ⭐️ ⭐️
In college I took some Art Of Pop Songwriting class and the first 2 weeks were about this song! Also glad Tom mentioned With Honors ‘cause this still slaps. https://youtube.com/watch?v=R0cfZczo4yk
🙌 And we are still fixing so many things (including w/ broken archive pages) ... and then some major commenting functionality upgrades coming early next year. :)
Our licenses allow many of the artists to release their songs ... eventually. In most cases you won't see them outside the comp for a year, if ever. Rostam wanted this out by year-end, though, since it's so good. :) And e.g., Lucy wanted to release the Hinder cover last week for 24 hours to raise $ for charity. I'm happy for the general public to hear these as long as it doesn't make our donors feel like they didn't get something special.
😂 The kids shows, I should’ve specified. Most of the kids shows on this new comp are mid-‘90s and newer
also “Golden Girls” ... I think they just wanted people to know what shows were represented
I bought this in the '90s but was too young to know the TV show themes covered: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Saturday-Morning-Cartoons-Greatest-Hits/master/58263 Now I'm too old to know the TV show themes covered on this comp. Sad.
Also! When I was a kid I thought “Simply Irresistible” was exclusively a Pepsi jingle ... like Pepsi’s version of “Addicted To Love.” https://youtu.be/N66QvM4idfc
