I don't think its as bad as some comments have made it out to be, but its certainly not very good. Bloc Party shouldn't be a thing unless its Kele, Russell, Gordon and Matt.
I can see why they would think that considering Thomas Morton is basically the whitest looking white person to ever white person, but the guy is genuinely good at what he does and every time he goes anywhere he goes with an open mind, he asks lots of questions, even about things he likely already knows about, to get the words right out of the subjects' mouths. Not to mention the guy has been to some pretty insane war zones and what not lol
I've seen so many people talking about the Miley/Nicki thing and I'm so confused? Can these people not see Nicki's big ass smile right before the camera cuts to Miley on her stage? I thought Nicki was serious for about the 2 seconds before I saw the smile. So obviously manufactured.
Easily some of the best stuff they've put out. Excited for their album. I thought The Cellar Door was a bit of an underrated debut from them too but this sounds far better already.
I thought his tape from last year, Black Hystori Project, was actually pretty damn good. Had some interesting beats and some really nice rapping on it. But for some reason it never released in anything higher quality than 128 kbps and nothing from it really got much attention.
At first I saw the Chelsea jersey and rolled my eyes. Then I saw it was a Kurt Zouma shirt. Now maybe Makonnen just saw that name online and thought the name looked and sounded cool on a jersey, but I'm gonna guess that he at least watches soccer. At least enough to be aware of Kurt Zouma.
I don't see this at all. The guys in Foals don't seem to share the dance obsession that has been guiding Kele for years. Yeah I know Four was all over the place and had its fair share of scuzzy stuff mixed in with dancey stuff and shiny production on a couple tracks but Foals has never really gone two footed into the dance thing. I know "My Number" is really catchy and pretty poppy honestly, but it doesn't come anywhere close to the unabashed electronic sound on Bloc Party songs like "Flux" or "Mercury".
I think they're both great bands and I think they started out similarly, but I don't think their paths are particularly similar.
Was disappointed not to see a mention of Kids These Days, Vic Mensa's former band, which featured a lot of members that now make up The Social Experiment that is working with Chance.
