I like how he acknowledges that he's just old. I can certainly understand why a person of that age would find WAP sung by a 10 year old to be a bit unsettling.
In fairness, their entire aesthetic was in line with all the kiddie mall punk (I prefer the term Hot Topic punk myself) and their biggest songs seemed to just be basically the best that "genre" could be. I think it took removing them from that scene/aesthetic to realize that they were actually doing something pretty damn different.
That Nothing Else Matters cover is pretty good but why does she go so hard right from the start? One of the best things about that song is Hetfield's voice starting quiet and tender and ramping up, she busts out the energy of his final chorus in the first verse, lol
Goldeneye is quite good but my entire opinion of that movie is massively overinflated by nostalgia. I will say, maybe controversially, that Eric Serra's weird ass soundtrack is perfect for the film though. The track that plays when Bond and Trevelyan fight on the satellite is so so good.
I think this is really, really harsh. Maybe I'm a sucker for the 80s cheese all over this thing, but I think its a pretty damn good song! And even though it doesn't fit the Bond theme mold, its a far better song than some of the absolute bores of songs that soundtrack quite a few of those films.
Noting Grand Theft Auto V's release date as 2018 made me do a double take but then I remembered that Grand Theft Auto V has been released every year since 2013 and will probably continue to be released every year until the Earth explodes.
The fact that Anthony Kiedis hasn't renamed himself to Cali Fornia is a truly stunning case of self-restraint. I'm sure the temptation claws away at him daily.
Good to know that she is fine with everything that happened but Drake was still a 23 year old dating an 18/19 year old back then. That still kinda fits with his...pattern of weird behavior.
I know its not her style but I think this song has a pretty good hook and would benefit greatly from having a more...bombastic arrangement. It certainly picks up in the second half but its all too low key and understated, like they were just trying to remake Skyfall. Problem is Skyfall didn't need all that sweeping orchestraton because of how powerful Adele's voice is. Eilish has a great voice, but its very understated and, for me, this song kind of never gets out of second gear. They try to go for it at the end but it just isn't there. Overall, a pretty weak Bond song.
Completely unsurprising but I do think he has the slightest bit of a point regarding the UK's strange laws about wearing masks in public spaces. Problem is instead of articulating that point he's just being a dick.
The original is hurt a bit by the relatively low budget 1975 era production. Beefing up the guitar and bass makes the song really kick you in the chest.
Not really on topic but I've been watching through the MCU movies in chronological order over the past week and my fiance and I just saw Thor 2 the other day. What a ridiculous movie, lol
