Imagine going back to 2012 and telling people that Donald Trump, president of the United States, would be calling out Sweden on Twitter to release A$AP Rockey from prison.
2019 is really really dumb
So much of that quote just reads as him jerking himself off over how much better he is than everyone else because he doesn't need a basic 21st century communication tool.
Congrats on being a privileged rich musician Jack but some of us actually need the fucking things.
Maybe its just because I can't understand 90% of the lyrics, but K-Pop seems to be far more musically interesting and diverse (and actually willing to take some risks) than any American or European boy bands have ever been.
I've been terrible about listening to new music this year, especially metal, so I don't have a list like you lovely people. But as for something very tangentially related that certainly fits no where else that I want to unleash here. What in the ever living fuck is wrong with the people at the other site? Giving Iron Maiden's self-titled debut and Killers a 7.0 and 7.3 respectively is some absolutely fucking egregious bullshit.
Preferring Vince or thinking he's more interesting or exciting is one thing, claiming Kendrick has never made an album that "slaps from front to back" is a stunning opinion. I struggle to find weak spots in Good Kid, maad city or To Pimp A Butterfly.
He really only truly rips off Bon Iver on that little introduction bit more the beat comes in. The rest is just pretty standard auto tune at that point.
As someone who was a teenager when the Killers were at their most popular, their songs were quite popular but I don't know if I'd say they were particularly cool. Like I'd almost kind of think of them like Boston? I can't imagine people thought of Boston being particularly cool when their original album released but I know they were pretty fucking popular. But I didn't experience that release so I really have no idea.
Listened to this album quite a few times on Friday, after already playing this song and "Love It If We Made It" quite a bit in the week or so leading up to the album coming out. I definitely agree with the Premature Evaluation that the best songs here are largely the songs that came out pre-release, though I did also enjoy "I Love America..." and "Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)". Their flirtations with other genres are laudable to me and I think they are interesting. The spoken word piece is pretty funny, though I'm okay with never hearing it again. But most of the second half of the album is just kind of boring.
This song especially to me shows that they're really still at their best when they're in their "extremely poppy 80s inflected guitar band" mode. Cool video too.
I always thought the lyrics to this song were really weird, especially for something that's supposed to be a nice warm and cozy Christmas song.
Really though all radio stations should ban all Christmas music because Christmas music fucking sucks.
Personal favorite line from Chocolate with Nuts (an episode that is literally wall-to-wall fantastic quotes):
Patrick: I've got it! Let's get naked!
Spongebob: No, we'll save that for when we're selling real estate...
Nice tribute by Beck.
I'll argue til the day I die that the first 3 seasons of SpongeBob are some of the greatest television ever created, regardless of intended audience.
