They already did! Three years ago! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfBny2oTOO4
I only grade songs that made the top 10, since I figure those are the only ones that had a legit shot at hitting #1.
I like the Poison version better.
Tremors is probably one of the 50 best movie ever made.
I've watched Jim Ross call a lot of wrestling matches.
Couldn't find video of it for Bonus Beats. I think a lot of Office stuff has been taken down from YouTube.
This is no way in tarnation that's the right way to say it. Even if it's technically correct, that's like Americans talking about "dahft poonque"
He stylizes it as "the Kid LAROI." but I sure as hell was not going along with that.
Michael Jackson is dead, and I didn't actively participate in hyping up his new music during his lifetime. It's a little different for me.
I'm just a "using ass"-ass writer. Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thought my big strength as a writer was the conversational-rhythm thing, and I am *definitely* the kind of person who indiscriminately peppers conversations with the word "ass."
I just made up "aethersphere" because "scene" didn't seem like a sufficiently prog-rock word to use.
I don't think I can properly convey how weird it was, seeing like Jawbox and Sick Of It All and Chainsaw Kittens and Surgery get snapped up and then ignored.
Probably my least favorite Rancid album! I respect it, but I was definitely like "what why" when it came out.
It did not. "Old Town Road" charted for one week on the country chart, and then Billboard decided that it wasn't sufficiently country and removed it. This led to a whole press shitstorm that probably helped push "Old Town Road" to #1. There are a couple of other country-to-pop crossover #1s, but none for a long time.
I never do. Figure this column is its own thing.
The opening scene from Streets of Fire is a perfect pure-cinema moment.
The thing that always bothers me is: Why doesn't Quicksilver's Walkman go all slow too? It's not like an actual physical part of his person.
I'm a September '79s baby, right on the X/millennial cusp. I knew the Manson version first; it was huge when I was in high school. I prefer the Eurythmics one by a vast margin.
I can't speak for any other critics, but I would absolutely have Sting over for dinner. He seems fun.
"Don't Stop The Music" peaked at #3. It's an 8.
This fuckin rules! Guitar is extremely East Bay Ray! As a punk going to see Flashdance in the theater, did you do a double-take when Lee Ving showed up as the skeezy strip-club goon?
Man, I'd never really thought of Argento as an influence on Flashdance, but I can totally see it.
Yup! Best out of many good candidates when I did a getty search for dwight howard dancing.
A 10 is a subjective thing. I gotta feel like my soul is taking flight everytime I hear it. "Beat It" rules, but it doesn't make me feel like that.
Held off on "The Girl Is Mine" because it's more relevant to a future #1.
Kinda feel like I've gotten into the MJ allegations already and I don't need to dig into them on every MJ piece I write. There are moments when it'll be relevant -- "You Are Not Alone," yeesh -- but all these pieces are already gonna be crazy long even without me addressing that stuff.
There is no amount of money that would make my disavow my stance that "Don't Stop Believin'" is a 10. Also, "Lights" peaked at #68, but I'd give that one a 10, too, if I could.
You already know it's a 10. That' s not even a question.
"widely liked" seemed like a backhanded compliment.
