I gotta write a column this afternoon, so I don't have time to post all the raw Bandcamp shit that I would very much like to post today. But there is so much stuff out! So let me just say:
Hanna Hirsch!

Left Behind!

Raw Hex!

It says "I Have Made A Place" on the cover, and there's a song with that title on the album. But according to the press release and the Bandcamp page, the actual title is 'I Made A Place,' so that's what I went with.
This guy doesn't make anything easy for us.
The press release just says "project," but that's dumb and vague, and I don't feel comfortable calling a seven-song release an album unless it's Godspeed You! Black Emperor or something.
When songs are going to get Premature Evaluation reviews, they're out of contention for Album Of The Week.
(I like the Never Ending Game album probably better than the Lindstrøm one, but I didn't get an advance of that one.)
Y'all really want this? I'd talked to Scott about the possibility of cutting back, and part of the reason I haven't done it is that people seem to like the consistency so much. But, I mean, it is a lot of work.
A lot of weird shit happened with the charts in the '90s. With "Tubthumping" in particular, the band's label pulled the single when it started rising the charts, so that people would buy the album instead. And it worked; that Chumbawamba album sold like 3 million. But we'll get to all of that.
