my man just dry snitched on Trippie Redd for no damn reason. that wasn't even remotely relevant to the case, just dropped "oh by the way Trippie is a blood" out of nowhere.
then I'm finally back where I belong
I clicked the comment button from the home page and closed my eyes till it loaded so that I could come here to respond to the headline directly: no thanks, I'm good!
crazy, I didn't know that! I vastly prefer Wildheart (top 5 for me this decade), but at least we can find common ground in agreeing that Miguel has been vastly underrated for far too long.
in a just world these comments would have 100 upvotes between them
Alicia Keys, Miguel and Raphael Saadiq on a low-key R&B jam? yeah just go ahead and hook this directly into my veins.
holy shit, this article marks my first time learning that Ric produced for Motion City Soundtrack - and after going back and listening to "This Is For Real" right now, it is abundantly clear. That man had a penchant for pop rock that can't be imitated. RIP.
this is what I deserve for unclear pronoun usage - my grandmother who was an English teacher is undoubtedly rolling in her grave
I'm a huge fan of Murder On My Mind, despite the weird authenticity it has now taken on, but Mixed Personalities just never did it for me. plus, once you've heard the first thirty seconds of this video, there's no going back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24wjPcAfGoQ
it's in my top 5, no question. it's strange to me how poorly it was received in some quarters cause this clicked with me faster than Flower Boy. also, special edition vinyls are coming in October, last I heard. I need the alternate cover in my collection ASAP.
this rules. I'll take this over him working with 6ix9ine (sorry if you forgot about him and I just forced him to reenter your conscious) or YNW Melly (see: last parenthetical) any day.
interesting - because I, too, am Post Malone. you've got the gun, cokeparty, and now you must decide which one of us is ~really~ the man you love
MOTM2 is genuinely one of the best albums of 2010, as far as I'm concerned, and it likely would have been my favorite rap record that year were it not for, y'know, probably the best rap record of the decade also releasing
Alex G album registered as a fringe top ten album that will likely be moved out by the year's end for me, but I do think there's a big possibility it grows on me over time. firm agree on Gretel though, everything after the two minute mark is just *chef_passionately_kissing_fingers.mp4*
enjoying the first track - and this really is an excellent mix/master. well done to you both!
wow, this is an incredible observation - and also wow, this song is somehow less horrible than the Migos one - well done, MC Hammer!
This is an excellent list, and I'm glad you included Love in this Club, because I feel it is often overlooked in these sorts of exercises
I don't know how best to convey a long, haggard sigh into text form so just do me a favor and imagine it instead
my friend who makes clothes invited Kerwin and fellow weirdo asspizza (yes, I'm serious, he calls himself that) to our hometown without ever having spoken to them before in his life. they accepted, and proceeded to take a $600 Uber from New York to our little town to stay for four days or so on a whim. they were both absolutely hilarious and genuine people and the success they've found in recent years (Kerwin as a personality and asspizza as a fashion cult favorite) is very heartwarming for me to see.
oh man, I'm about to become infinitely more condescending towards my fellow Stereogum commentators after seeing this
trying to decide whether I hate myself enough to make this into a playlist
this was a ruthlessly efficient way to ruin my weekend
MOTM is easily one of the most important rap albums of my life. a whole lot of stuff was changing for the worse when this dropped, and hearing Cudi talk about his struggles so openly brought me a lot of comfort. first time I smoked weed I listened to Soundtrack 2 My Life with one of my best friends, who is no longer with us. I will cherish that memory forever. long live the Man on the Moon.
I would like to submit the following hot take for consideration: "Climax" is a top three Usher song. that last verse is absolutely heart-wrenching every single time. (the other two are Burn and U Don't Have To Call (Childish Gambino's cover of U Don't Have To Call is incredible and I wish more people had listened to STN MTN))
his name is Kerwin Frost, and having spent a few days with him a couple years back I can in fact confirm he is an absolute pleasure to be around
congratulations to clipping. on releasing two consecutive singles that give me nightmares (& to be clear, I absolutely love it)
I like that first quote quite a bit. streaming presents a real conundrum, and watching how these services develop through the 2020s will be a fascinating experience. something's gotta give (in regards to the money-hemorrhaging cited below) but I cannot imagine a world without Spotify now, and that's coming from someone that purchases two or three records a month. imagine what people with no physical collections would experience if streaming died tomorrow!
my financial adviser is becoming increasingly upset as I insist I want all of my funds diverted to NLE Choppa LLC (also that No Hook track rules)

at this point I wear their audible groans in response to my recommendations as a badge of honor. does this indicate that I'm mentally unwell? probably! but that's never stopped me before and I certainly won't let it do so now.
money would take all of the fun out of it; half the reason I'm here is to forget the responsibilities of my current money-making venture, after all
you bots are losing your edge, you didn't even include a link this time!
apologies, I meant in terms of acts that came about this decade! if I disrespected War on Drugs like that my brother would come home and give me a wedgie like it was 2000 all over again
oh man, I'm about to become infinitely more condescending towards my other music-loving friends after working through this
I think the underground rap scenes on Bandcamp provide a pretty interesting template for how to make profit off of music in the streaming age - guys like Flee Lord only allow you to listen to two tracks without buying for the first month or two after release, some packages include tickets to listening parties, there's a lot of ultra low run vinyl pressings that fetch larger sums, etc. It's interesting how even in such a globalized world of music we're starting to revert back to local scenes in search of profitability outside of the mainstream. anyway, all of that is to say more power to her, and I hope it works out for her.
Alex G and Hop Along have singlehandedly put Philadelphia back on the map in terms of indie music. I have as high of hopes for this as I did for Bark Your Head Off, Dog, and I highly doubt he's going to disappoint.
Ryan Beatty is one of the best members of Brockhampton. (I'm kidding, but only just)
IDK opened for Isaiah Rashad in '17 back when he was Jay IDK and it was super inspirational how dedicated he was to making the crowd move. A lot of openers are content to collect their check and stare out at a bunch of motionless people waiting for the main act. that man started chants, opened pits, and just generally had a good time. really improved the show. that being said, I think all of his material has been pretty underwhelming, but it is getting progressively better. December rocks, as does Porno, but most of it just doesn't land for me. hoping it does well critically and commercially, just not my cuppa.
