I snorted with laughter.
I love Topher so much, and things like these just remind me why.
This trailer definitely looks better than the last. I also like the fact that they are already advertising the soundtrack. Wes Anderson knows his reputation. Plus I could use always use another mix of good Kinks and Stones songs.
That petition is thick with talent. I just choose to pretend it doesn't exist.
I know what straw man is, I thought you were going to link to what the Republican's Healthcare plan actually was. That would be helpful.
Says the guy with an avatar making fun of somebodies involuntary twitch.
I thought Gummo was actually pretty great. And I happen to have a Mister Lonely avatar as of this last weekend. What I'm trying to say is, I'll probably watch it, be initially dissapointed and grossed out. Then think about it for the next two weeks, watch it again, like it, think about it some more, watch it again and love it all while comma splicing the shit out of my sentences.
Pretty cool, I'll probably just catch it on dvd though.
He just kept right along with it though. If it was me I wouldn't have asked for a replay, I would have writhed in pain on the ground for a while.
I don't really think its a bad movie, it just seemed phoned in. It had Alec Baldwin being Baldwin, and Matt Damon being Matt Damon, and Scorsese being Scorsese. They took no risks. They said nothing worth saying. And then there was the finale. It was too much after too little.
This is such an easy argument to make because obviously racism is bad. The problem with it though is that it lacks some compassion and empathy. Obviously racism is bad, but racists aren't necessarily bad. But whatever you can continue to reduce everything to blacks and whites (worst pun ever totally intended) and deal with your absolutes. Hating racists is by no means the worst thing you can do in this world.
The racism is a product of their time, not being bitter. My grandparents were raised in a society completely separate from all other ethnicities. Furthermore they were subjected to casual racism for there entire lives. For this reason I do not hold it against my grandmother at all that she thinks Asians are terrible drivers. But it is mostly harmless. My parents are in no way racist. It follows further down the line. Its not something I am proud of, but my parents are homophobic. Its not because they are bad people. They aren't. I love them very much. Its lamentable but it was how they were raised. I would like to believe that I am in no way homophobic. This isn't to say that everybody their age is homophobic, or that everybody my grandparents age are racist its just to argue that tolerance comes with generations. When I'm older I'm pretty sure my grandchildren will find it hilarious I'm so intolerant to something fairly mainstream and acceptable.
I didn't really like the Departed either and its one of the reasons my friends describe me as a "hater." I kind of see what you are saying about Clint. He has directed some undeniably good movies, but he isn't cool.
Did you just attack Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese in the same post. I thought you were cool with your Henry Miller avatar and all, but now I'm not so sure.
Professor of Dickology over here
Who nominated this? Gran Torino is one of the only movies in recent memory I enjoy as much as my parents. And maybe everybody here doesn't have a racist grandparent (I have several), but 1. they are products of their times and not necessarily bad people and 2. they are hilarious
I think its pretty obvious this is going to be a kitten parade.
Time for a turkey sammich. Take that Jews.
Agreed, the movie is much better in theory than in practice.
Filibuster. Also, c'mon man. In the process of making that statement he puts himself on a pedestal higher than both his fellow film makers and the audience.
White people are the only people that enjoy white people jokes.
I don't any body else really got your joke, but I loled. Congratulations.
Stop saying he's fine and switching it up. He's switched it up like 2 times out of 50. There is absolutely nothing redeamable about this one. I say cut him.
I thought last nights episode was actually hilarious. The make up department is definitely taking an unwanted step up, but it was still very funny.
At least this movie got compared to one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history. I mean Harry blasted that toilet, and then it didn't even work. And on a date no less! rofl. Seriously though Dumb and Dumber is good, this movie is bad, and I'm torn on how I feel about this critic comparing them albeit passingly.
You've got to pay the troll toll (stick around forever and kind of tweak your style) if you want to get into that boy's hole (the monsters' hearts).
Seriously what the hell was it. The video cut off too soon. Something about time he hinted, but what?
I hate being the kill joy, but sappy crap like this has ruined the office for me. I'll see myself out.
You had me at "This man's hair looks like a hat."
I will watch pretty much anything with LeBron James in it. Seriously.
What's the deal with Sam Lowry receiving these gut jerk down votes. He coherently albeit vaguely voiced an unpopular opinion. The comments were not inflammatory nor should they anger anybody. If we insist on discussing politics on a pop culture blog, which I guess we do, can we not at least be cool about it. This is exactly what Obama asked us not to do. I know in the grand scheme of things downvotes don't mean anything, it just pisses me off when anything conservative is automatically downvoted on this site. Its embarrassing to me.
Gabe, I know you don't like to really monitor the comments to closely, but I feel like an asshole right now for that accidental spoiler I just dropped. Can you please delete this?
*at my roommates. And yeah Ken Park was terrible and the worst thing Ziggy ever did. Even worse than the double homicide
This is probably the first WMOAT that actually made me kind of want to see the movie. Yeah, the alien thing sounds retarded, and in general it sounds retarded. But 1. I really like the Wire and will watch anything if some of the cast is featured i.e. 300 and Ken Park. 2. Id get to see people get jumpered. 3. I think I would get to yell a significant amount of ironic "Oh shit"s and my roommates. Yeah, I think I may see it.
Its very impressive. That's why despite all the abuse I just really wanted to be like him. Maybe if I could poop in someone else's pants while they were wearing them my mom would love me as much as she loves him.
Whoever laughs at this news story must have never had an older brother. I'm just glad this epidemic is finally getting addressed. Now if they could just make a lifetime original movie about that time he held me down and pooped in my pants to make me look dumb I'd be golden.
I think he probably just wants a disconnect between his characters. The Rock was a character he played in the WWE where he perked his eyebrow and asked if people could smell his cooking. He doesn't want people watching his family films to think its going to be the Rock onscreen like it was with the Hulkster. Seems aight to me. Plus he seems like a cool guy.
I don't see what the problem is. I asked him to do me a solid. He did me a solid. Then I let him no I was happy with the solid and that I owe him a solid. Jeeze. Also, yes I run this town along with Rihanna.
