As if you needed further confirmation that The End of Kanye was upon the music listening world...I think this pretty much takes the needle of his record. Adios Ye, was fun while it lasted. Next.
Ha! I'm all hopped up on Watchmen...didn't think my comment would gather such negative energy. Probably misunderstood...I just hate when anyone assimilates or labels something "white men" or "black men" for some reason like its something that can only really be appreciated in certain ways. It's just friggin music.
And its Viedt who dropped the squid not the doctor ;)
I'm guessing Lou Gossett has something to do with her get up. Really great show and loving the Jean Smart entry. She's sorta tying up loose ends and grounding the series for us as she goes.
I agree, but its a grower for me....that groove is so great. Think of it as a sorta Nikes vibe (Ironically, his first single from Blonde) only with a more Endless vibe, and, well, who doesn't want that?
DHL all of a sudden doesn't sound as random after hearing this one. If these are indeed album tracks, then woozy is the key vibe. Pieces coming together...
I just went on IMDB to notice that Scott has SEVENTEEN projects that he is currently listed as producer, SIX of which he's tagged to direct. Guy is a friggin machine.
I don't want to drop an 'elephant in the room' kinda quip, but I always hear so, so many people throw around "underrated" with Skylight when I think its just simply more of a 'hear no evil, see no evil' type stance. I loved Skylight, hard not to, but with all the negative that has surrounded this band, the level of publicity tends to be smothered due to the circumstances. So, maybe it's not so much underrated recognition as much as maybe more...avoiding recognition.
As an example, I found it very interesting that I basically saw nothing regarding Swans new album other than a mention halfway down the new release/AOTW article a couple weeks ago, and these guys were Stereogum darlings. Now, it's who really cares, pass.

Ha! The establishment....thats funny. If there's one thing true, NIN and Trent Reznor are the epitome of anti establishment. Thirty years of staying his own course not enough for ya?
After reading 127 comments, it's official. I am not even going to listen to this. Not one second of one track. I simply just don't care. I'm not going to get tugged around by this fool anymore. He's washed up, out of touch, ignorant and overrated.
Ok here we go...getting myself motivated to watch infinite loops of random carpentry while I drool for every morsel of new music for the next 3 months. Bring it.

Jesus Christ it was a kitschy party to celebrate a trivial time from the past in music and personal preferences, not damn journey to the center of the sun.
It seems to me that if you take the standard meat grinder layout of a country song notes, but sprinkle in politics and stereotype battles instead of trucks, girls and boys and whiskey, you gotta real shot at some sort of strange credibility.
If you love the album, then you've watched this....if not, then its must watch for ya...

Celebs in general need to STFU. Still blows my mind that because you make a good album it give you the right to speak prophet like its the end all to truth. Oooo, don't poke the beyhive....oooo....gimme a break. And you too Ellen, go dance your way to your spa.
That doesn't sound depressing at all. Listen, if I'm listening to Plainsong with the volume on 11, I want dead trees outside, lights out, bone chilling air blowing snow drifts into my window and a fire roaring with a Blanton's in my hand while I contemplate calling an ex girlfriend from high school days.
Your afternoon sounds like a Corona commercial.
