A male version of Mazzy Star....this guy knows how to set a mood. Great stuff
Rattle and Hum is great. When the dvd came out I remember figuring out a way to record the songs from the film onto my old onkyo receiver/pioneer dual tape deck. 'When Love Comes to Town,' Bad and the version of 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' where Bono goes off from the film is essential viewing, and to be able have the ability to listen to it in my old nissan was easily one of the greatest recording accomplishments of my young baked life.
What I wanna know is how that tile floor came out because it appears like that kid is pretty excited about his handiwork
A Rogue Wave covers album? And, its all 80's cuts? Off I go to Soundcloud...
I'll find it, but I won't kill it. Now, what about my dynamite? Might be one of Andersons best lines.
Ha! Damn...same thoughts. Bravo.
What they should do is collect a bunch of bands/artists and do a medley...you could essentially tab anyone from The Weeknd to Spoon. But then again, this is The Grammys, and to actually single out how far his reach was to the music community in this way would be far too practical.
I agree...to a degree. Love when he rolls songs like 'Son of a Ladies Man,' 'I Love You Honeybear' or 'Holy Shit' outta his strumming guitar. And, I'll take the occasional 'Bored in the USA,' or this, and 'Pure Comedy,' but the latter examples do tend to take on the similar structure and preachy angle. This track, tho, does feel like something that may fit nicely as an interlude between songs. I am sure the album will be epic to an almost excessive degree, but still...its FJM. He's tenured the freedom of us waiting to hear the entire body of work before judgement. The album feels like it has the makings of being the apex to his catalog.
Not that I don't adore 'Carrie and Lowell,' it being one of my favorites, but he could read the obit section from a newspaper over a few chords and it'd carry more 'wistful elation' than that album. Lookin forward to it...
Let those who grew up with the evolution of U2 and their pinnacle moment, The Joshua Tree, let you in on their "appeal." There was nobody besides maybe REM who put more of a stamp on radio friendly 'alternative' music in the 80's than them. Go give Rattle and Hum and view and you may understand how massive attention U2 and that album created.
This is right outta Exile on Main....My Lord this is great.
Hamilton breaks the fourth wall, yet Trump hasn't even but his first wall yet. Stay tuned...this may be a dogfight.
Does "slower and more reflective" refer to the songs or her recording approach? Past has proven this description applies to both. Either way, bring it on Grimesy...
Every time I see or read the words Japanese Breakfast, I immediately start sing 'Everybody Wants to Love You' like a giddy schoolboy
I find 40 Mark Strasse pleasantly memorable.
When do stories about Suge Knight turn from rap mogul gone wrong to just piece of shit degenerate convict in jail? I mean really...this guy just needs to erode into oblivion.
Its the Nobel Peace Prize. It's very fucking important, and the honor should be acknowledged. No one is asking him to gloat, but at least pay respect to those who have paved its path.
Pretty sure Leo hasn't swung and missed yet and coming of Revenant, tough to not think his streak will continue. Book was riveting. What would rock is if Iñárritu & Lubezki joined in...then we'll definitely have somethin. One facts for sure, ground zero for rock was Sun Records.
This story is already better than the movie Inferno
Really is...KoL no doubt a guilty pleasure, but there could be worse bands to tailgate to, thats for sure.
How bout Man in a Box? Literally the song that got them started...man, wheres that 120 Minutes clip when ya need it. Great Seattle band...Rooster, I Stay Away, Would?, Angry Chair. Always wished for more from them and Mother Love Bone. RIP to both...
Rule number one of Feminism.... Don't be deterred by those who stand against your fight. This isn't a good start to your new career path, Dem
The EP is fantastic....should be in the conversation at years end. Think Bon Iver meets Radiohead by way of Marvin Gaye. Yes, its thats good.
That Earwigs songs a rip...or, as the kids say, its lit.
My experience with Buck was '88 when I was knee deep into Clapton at the time, and his album, Taking it Home featured Slow Hand on 'Why Does Love Have to be So Sad." Honestly woulda never known him if it wasn't for my love with Clapton, and he put him on the pop culture map with that song. Robert Cray also helped as well....great musician and was sorry to hear we lost him when I read the news. RIP
Top 5 Depp Cut Billy Idol Songs 1. Blue Highway 2. Trouble with the Sweet Stuff 3. All Summer Single 4. Prodigal Blues 5. The Loveless The Cult 1. Sun King 2. Sweet Soul Sister 3. She Sells Sanctuary 4. Edie (Ciao Baby) 5. Love Removal Machine
Damn, Billy looks good. I know it may seem odd, but this guy ruled late 80's in the 90's....Whiplash Smile, Charmed Life and obviously 83's Rebel Yell are essential albums of the time. He and The Cult are still the best bands to ever take Morrison and Elvis to new levels.
You both need to listen to more Bruce.
I read this morning that evidently sales of his album are through the roof since that Today appearance...so, there's that? Either way, in one of his statements, he brought up a real strong case for the sorta 'cyber bullying' that went on, and there was such a sense of earnestness with his plea and that form of criticism should somehow be monitored more effectively. I know that, in the grand scheme of things, the dawn of the internet was only a short time ago, but this is one of those times where someone should use this as a platform and champion a cause to dampen poor commentary on public sites. TBH, personally, I don't even the likes of Twitter etc anymore because of this very fact. When a million people are able to voice opinion for all to see, you start to see just how stupid this country really is...
Knowing NPR the reasons must be political....although I can't seem to justify Canada loss...oh wait, yes I can.
Well, there goes the rest of my morning now...
Now, if Spotify can just figure out how to take my 9 hour and 46 minute playlist and shuffle more than only 25 songs, we'll have a clear winner.
Yet another move that eliminates any option to use any product other than an Apple product. My personal fave is The Velocity of saul
This is a ballsy comment Bloch....I do think 'Down The River of Golden Dreams' was easily their best, I agree, but they released some pretty fantastic albums since.
The Valley Road to Hell. I'll show myself out...
