Let explain to you how this works Andrew, because you clearly have no idea.
One, none of us know your aunt, so we're not going to go around making jokes about her dying when she does.
Two, IF we did. The joke would be something relevant to the person and there life. Something everyone knows about. Like for example, Let's say your aunt loved playing golf but she sucked at it. I might say "Well, looks like Jesus is going to watch himself on the golf course now that Andrew's aunt is in the group behind him."
What you did, not only was it not funny, but it was a sarcastic jab that had nothing really to do with Adam or the Beastie Boys. You just used his death to take a shot at Coachella.
So, you see, your dickish comment and your general inability to understand why it was dickish is why everyone hates you here.
Shall be investigating the first annual Great Googa Mooga. Cautiously optimistic, getting tickets was a nightmare. Looking forward to the food probably more than the music.
That's what I figured. I was never much a fan of her music so it doesn't really play into my thinking. I've just at the point where I'm not going to waste any brain power thinking/wondering/worrying about Courtney Love. If she wants to go and clean herself up, that's great for her, but I'm more concerned about the people around her than her own well being.
I gotta say, Tom, I'm surprised you seem to still be rooting for Courtney to get it together in all of this. I read this, and my reaction is disappointment that Frances Bean doesn't control everything regarding her father's legacy and that she could still one day have to pay her horrible mother royalties. Of course, if that day ever came when Love paid back that money, it would probably mean she finally got her act together so I'd say to that end maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but it's a long shot at best.
Oh, and those drawings look like shit.
Now now, RubJon O.G., Stereogum is a democratic society. If you don't like what someone has to say you downvote them...
... And if you really don't like what they have to say, you're probably reading one of your own comments.
MCR's game from when I was a freshman in college was actually pretty good, and fucking hard as hell.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I'm completely over these faux-retro, smash-edited, low production quality Lana Del Rey videos (as in, all of them). It's played out, don't her handlers get it? This sort of stuff is only going to make the backlash worse.
In fairness to Lana Del Rey, this is pretty good and it comes at a time when the asinine hype surrounding her has cooled off considerably. It is almost as though her haters will deride anything she puts out that is less than incredible. The storm has passed with her, people need to relax.
I always thought the Hall was created to give people from Cleveland something to tell people about their home town without having to mention all the horrible sports franchises or crappy mall. "I'm from Cleveland, home of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame!" is a lot more fun to say than "I'm from Cleveland, home of the Cleveland Browns!"
You know what? Courtney Love has gotten to the point with me where she has done/said enough awful, annoying, crazy things that I'm satisfied that is just who she is and she's not going to change. She's not a talented enough musician or songwriter where I'm going to be able to forget that from a little reunion show (or even a big one) and I don't want to see or hear from anymore in the world of music, I just want her to go away. Disagree if you like, but she's run out of goodwill to win back from me.
Woah woah woah, ignorance alert. The Beatles and Dave Clark Five were contemporaries. My dad says about every time a DC5 song comes on the radio, "it used to be a real debate over who was better, The Beatles or Dave Clark Five" back in the early Beatles days.
Dude, its just called the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Its clearly a HOF for all genres of popular and significant contemporary music. Don't get so caught up in the semantics, it's very troll-like.
