It has been FIVE YEARS since Pinback’s last album, Autumn Of The Seraphs, and while the band hasn’t been completely silent (Rob Crow dropped a solo album in 2011; Three Mile Pilot graced us with a new one back in ’10), they have been missed. On Record Store Day 2011, Rob and Zach gave us a new single, “True North,” the second installment in the Information Retrieved 7″ trilogy, and now, they’ve announced a release date for Information Retrieved, the LP: 10/16/2012. The San Diego band’s fifth full-length will be released via Temporary Residence, their new label following the scaled-back operations of old homes Touch and Go and Absolutely Kosher. While you’re waiting, listen to “True North,” which will (presumably?) be featured on the new album.

Fuckin’ finally. The songs on those new 7″ records are great, so I’m looking forward to this! Also, not to be that guy, but Pinback were on Touch and Go (which also had to shut down, sad) before they signed to Temporary Residence.
More Summer in Abaddon, less Autumn of the Seraphs.
+ blue screen life & s/t
So robs not making another album under the Goblin Cock moniker? Color me disappointed!
Pinback were most recently on Touch & Go, not Absolutely Kosher.
Thanks for the heads ups, lumbermouth and mreasy. This has been amended in the text.
