Remember last week, when Bob Mould played Letterman and knocked us all on our collective ass? Same deal here. Divine Fits, the new Britt Daniel/Dan Boeckner/Sam Brown trio, played Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday night and gave a tough, taut, locked-in rendition of their single “Would That Not Be Nice.” It’s not like the Frank Ocean moment on Fallon a couple of months ago; it won’t dominate music-blog chatter for the next few days. But it’s a shining example of a group of professionals seizing their televised moment and doing their goddam thing, and it will make you glad you stared at your computer for four minutes.
