When it was announced the Dave Grohl had rejoined Queens Of The Stone Age, some commenters theorized/joked that maybe Nick Oliveri would be next to rejoin the band. Considering the apparent acrimony after Josh Homme booted Oliveri in 2004 (and especially after Oliveri was charged with numerous criminal counts in 2011), that seemed … unlikely. At best. Well, never say never. According to a post on the Facebook wall of Oliveri’s project Mondo Generator, the ex-QOTSA bassist has recorded vocals on the forthcoming QOTSA album. He’s also rejoined Kyuss! Per MG’s Facebook update:
NEWS: Nick has re-joined Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned.
“Stay tuned”? Huh. Can a full-scale getting-the-band-back-together reunion be far behind? Or … what? Stay tuned!

Considering Homme’s longstanding tradition of performing at Coachella… I’d expect QOTSA on the 2013 line-up.
this might be sacrilege, and maybe if it does happen it could make for an overall better record, but at this point i don’t even miss the guy. Homme has proved time and again that he can do just fine without Oliveri. i am gonna miss joey castillo on the drums though.
I think at the very least he’s throwing his old friend a bone to get through his recovery. For that Josh is not only a cool dude but evidentially a good friend.
Obviously you don’t know what the fuck you are talking about.
All of the best QOTSA was WITH Nick O. & WITHOUT J. Castillo.
Gotta agree with Rusty on this. Joey Castillo over Dave Grohl? You must be smoking paint.
you can smoke paint?
Songs for the Dads , but in all seriousness I’m excited for this, now they just have to finish it up already.
‘Maybe if you really like him he’ll beat the shit out of you too.’

In related news, Chris Brown and Rihanna are back together. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/25/rihanna-chris-brown-together-tweets-photo-shirtless-brown-in-bed_n_2188510.html
Predictably, someone downvoted you. I swear to God, there is a shocking percentage of Stereogum readers to whom it is inconceivable that a musician they like might actually be more evil than good, even if all the evidence is right there.
