Someone abused his or her Abelton privileges and layered the vocals from Nine Inch Nails’ “Head Like A Hole” on top of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.” According to SPIN, this materialized via Reddit request (of course) and even though this is troll brew of high potency, it doesn’t really stop me from wanting to vilify mashup-enablers of any ilk (and trust that I understand I am complicit in this, too, by making this post and I’ve hidden all the candy at my desk and won’t be allowed to have it back until tomorrow). I do have soft spots for “Since U Been Hard 2 Find” and the “Single Ladies” vox layered on top of Talib Kweli’s “Never Been In Love, so I can appreciate the actual cohesion that’s at play here. But I like both of the songs enough on their own and I don’t really need them smushed together. Check out the track, “Call Me A Hole,” below and let us know if you think this is crazy — sorry, twice in one day! — or if you’re into it in the comments.

Sounds oddly like Smash Mouth during the chorus.
I hear it! I miss liking Smashmouth… You’re a smart man. Stay away from opossums :)
You sir, have just won round trip tickets to the Astro Lounge.
It feels really, really wrong, but I can’t help but smile at this…
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
errrrrr…ummmmm…ahhhh…
I don’t know whether to be horrified or amused. I’m horrimused.
I’m in favor of every mashup, because why the hell not? If it sucks, I’ll quickly pass by it, but props to these DJs getting creative and combining the most random songs together.
wait a minute now. when is the candy coming out again?
It sounds like an ’80′s pop song. I can just imagine a grainy music video that has Trent dancing with an animated cat.
