In 1965, British Invasion greats the Animals had a hit with their cover of Nina Simone’s “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” and now the former Animals frontman Eric Burdon has teamed up with the former Rilo Kiley leader Jenny Lewis to record another version of the song. This one is for True Blood, the HBO vampire melodrama that returns next month. The new version is, naturally, spookier and more atmospheric, and you can hear it below.
