I’ve loved Aloha for years (Here Comes Everyone was one of Stereogum’s Top Catorce of 2004). The forthcoming Some Echoes is another winner, equal parts prog and post-rock. It’s the band’s second album with T.J. Lipple, whose marimba has become a key ingredient of the Aloha sound. I’m sure I’ll have a different favorite tune off Echoes tomorrow (there are even some sweet ballads), so for now probably best to treat you to its kick-ass intro.
