A week ago we brought you the first video from new Mad Decent artist Bosco Delrey. There’s a story behind this Ad-Rock remix: the Mad Decent offices are apparently in Beastie Boys’ old studio. Mad Decent head Diplo sent Mike D photos of the space post-makeover, plus some tracks from the label’s talent. Ad-Rock heard Delrey through Mike D, and wanted to do a remix. Mike D has one in the works as well, so maybe there’s a little inter-band competition going on here? The original, like all of Delrey’s songs, is an unexpected combo — here it’s church organ over a twitchy drum machine. Ad-Rock’s version loses the organ and drums, focusing on Delrey’s whispered vocals and a new, “Dirt“-like beat. Listen:
