Figurines "New Colors"

Denmark’s Figurines are back with their first new record in four years. This one is self-titled, which references the band’s near breakdown and breakup after touring their last album, 2007′s When The Deer Wore Blue. “New Colors” is the first single, and from the start you’ll notice a sort of uneasiness about it — from the slightly dissonant synth opening, to the bending, watery guitar and the nervous quiver in Christian Hjelm’s voice. Figurines is out 4/12 via The Control Group. The “New Colors” single will be available via iTunes starting tomorrow.

  1. Not impressed, a bit of a shame. Skeleton was great, When The Deer Wore Blue was decent, but then they fell off the radar.

  2. Kevin, I’d strongly recommend giving the whole album a chance. I got an advance copy in denmark last summer and it stands up to skeleton note for note, except more educated with even more brilliant harmonies

  3. Sweet. Out of nowhere radiohead followed by out of nowhere figurines. not a bad week. sounds damn good. I’m excited!

  4. Figurines are amazing. Haven’t heard all of their new album yet, but at least half of it is absolutely brilliant.

  5. true story, I once asked a girl on a date to go see a triple bill of cold war kids, tapes n tapes, and figurines in 06. She said she would think about it, then a few days later said she wasnt really into the bands.
