Just gave it a listen.
First impressions: Solid, though not as great as “Youth Novels.” It’s definitely more heavy on rhythm, with more “I’m Good I’m Gone”-type tunes than the last album.
“I Follow Rivers” is probably the best track off of it. On most of the tracks, the melodies don’t jump out and grab you immediately as they did on her last album, but perhaps the melodies will stick out more on repeat listens.
this is a ballsy fucking album. loving it.
She’s fantastic. I’m enjoying it so far, though I didn’t expect not to. Go Lykke.
