More news in Daft Punk related merch: Coca-Cola has paired up with French pair Daft Punk for a set of limited edition Coke bottles. The bottle set is called “Daft Punk x Coca-Cola Club Coke,” and as you can see, it sort of looks like the duo’s helmets. It’ll be available at French clubs, and as a collector’s box set sold at colette in Paris. If you’re at a club and you see someone drinking one of these, it’s kinda up to you to decide if you’re in the right place or not. These will be available beginning March 2011, when the companion site, www.daftcoke.com, also goes live.

I preferred Daft Punk when they made awesome albums instead of sodas, toys, and movie appearances.

adams was also releasing music. lots of it. not to say i expect daft punk to drop 2-3 albums per year, but you see where i’m going with this.

I’m not necessarily against artists we love aligning themselves with brands, corporations, etc for some kind of creative partnership…but wow, this is some lame shit. Whoever handled this deal on DP’s side should have to wear a Daft helmet filled with wasps and syphilitic buffalo loads. Whoever landed this for Coke-

Well, if nothing else, the name “Daft Coke” is pretty boss.
Though perhaps it would’ve been better suited for their own personal stashes of blow.

I don’t care about “selling out” but if you’re gonna do it, make it worthwhile. The Gap commercial is a perfect example (it was cool) this? not so much.
