Dan Bejar makes a move, we’re gonna write about it. Hence the love for his project with Heartbreak Scene covering obscure Canadian songwriter Mark Szabo, or cam-phone grade YouTube of solid new tunes. Hello, Blue Roses is something more substantial for Destroyer lovers, though; a 13-track album of material from Dan’s musical collaboration with his romantic partner Sydney Vermont, a collection with Dan says is a “product of not really caring what people think.” Guess they won’t care that a lot of people are gonna like it, then. The advance listen spinning its way through the web is “Shadow Falls,” starting with a steady pulse, the lovers’ mantra sung in unison, breaking into lo-fi keyboard washes and warm guitar lines. “My shadow falls for you.” Isn’t it romantic.

[Handsome, no furs]
