Young Turks sire SBTRKT DJd Glasslands here in Williamsburg the other night, and when he dropped Cruel Summer slammer “Wildfire,” the masked post-everything producer popped the crowd off with a tribally doctored refix of Drake’s essential remix. That was a good moment that could have been topped only if like Drake showed up to spit in person.
Oh, to be at Toronto’s Wrongbar last night.

That comes via MissInfo.tv, as does this bit of SBTRKT and Sampha going in on their proper-band-style set with October’s Very Own nodding approvingly in the wings.
You can catch a recreation of that scene — SBTRKT on drums, Sampha recreating any of his many LP-standout moments (minus Drizzy, probably) — at MoMA PS1 this afternoon. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be there. SBTRKT’s self-titled debut full-length is one of the best of the year (so far). Get it via Young Turks, take Drake’s remix now:

The album is so good.
I was there, it was pretty fucking unreal, lots of commotion surrounding his Maybach too.
I apologize but I find it repulsive that Drake gets news on hear for doing a SBTRKT remix/whatever it is and the great Shabazz Palaces doesn’t get any recognition for doing the same thing
