MTV has released the nominations list for this year’s VMA’s, and those three faces — Adele, Katy Perry, Kanye, are amongst the leaders across the board. Also notable: “Yonkers” up for Best New Video along with a Best New Artist nod for Tyler, The Creator. Wherever you stand on OFWGKTA and Goblin, I think we can agree that Tyler at the podium would make for far more compelling television than the statue going to Foster The People. Or at least that is something we could all agree to if we had any intention of watching the VMAs. Which, do we? I tend to, still, out of mindless perpetuation of my adolescent habits (or to put it with more cultural class, “nostalgia”) and also out of love for Videogum’s live bloggery.
