MTV has released the nominations list for this year’s VMA’s, and those three faces — Adele, Katy Perry, Kanye, are amongst the leaders across the board. Also notable: “Yonkers” up for Best New Video along with a Best New Artist nod for Tyler, The Creator. Wherever you stand on OFWGKTA and Goblin, I think we can agree that Tyler at the podium would make for far more compelling television than the statue going to Foster The People. Or at least that is something we could all agree to if we had any intention of watching the VMAs. Which, do we? I tend to, still, out of mindless perpetuation of my adolescent habits (or to put it with more cultural class, “nostalgia”) and also out of love for Videogum’s live bloggery. So yeah, let’s watch and crack wise. Here’s the complete list of noms to help make up your drinking games:

You forgot to put the Video of the Year nominations up…
This is why I came to comment. Video of the Year category please!
Katy Perry is as talented as a peanut in the mud. That “Fireworks” song makes me want to hold my head underwater until her screeching is over.
Hopefully Kanye will let Adele finish, cause she’s going to sweep. zzzz…
I think Adele has infinitely more artistic credibility than Taylor Swift. I’m a huge Kanye fan, but at the same time, I don’t think Taylor Swift is a hack or anything. She writes catchy pop songs, which is not an all an easy thing to do.
Still, people get really bitter over her very existence, which says a lot more about them than it does about her. But I doubt Kanye is gonna act up in any predictable way.

that piece of shit kante wests shouldnt be aloud at one of those nevermind be nominated for anything. hes a stupid ignorant racist bitch
umadbro?
How is he racist? Is there any way to talk about racism without being called a racist?
hahaha the press pictures of adele look nothing like her. she’s marketed as the “plus size” artist who’s inspirational to women, then she gets 50 pounds photoshopped out of her.
I think Nicki will sweep the categories that she’s in, Foster The People for Best New Artist, Black Keys for Best Rock Video, Judas for Best Choreography, Power for SFX, and I could go on and on, but it’s not like anyone cares what I think anyway
