For the first track from his forthcoming solo(ish) project Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, “The Death Of You And Me,” the ex-Oasis songwriter/beef-instigator Noel Gallagher took his cues from country. “The Good Rebel” is that track’s b-side, and is more in line with the Noel you know.

Got a lot of love for Noel, when it comes to liking him or his twat of a brother anyway. Not much love past that actually. Anyway it sounds like a sitcom theme. I can picture the opening credits to the show in my head while listening. It a mix of ‘Friends’, ‘Game on’, with the teenage angst of ‘My so called life’ ….
The chorus reminds me of The Soft Boys.
I love Oasis but I am not feeling this…
I have no idea why I can’t stand country and at the same time like most of Noel’s music. And this really doesn’t sound like Oasis at all . . .
