Last night @tuneyards lit up with news of the “Gangsta” 12″, featuring remixes by Cut Chemist and the god Adrock. Mr. Horovitz’s take is here for the taking, and it is your chance to hear Merrill’s globe-trotting polyrhythms and hip-hop-tinged lyrics of dangerous hoods shot through Adrock’s NY-centric, boom-bap-minded filter.
The “Gangsta” 12″ is up for pre-orders via 4AD. It also features an a cappella version and artwork by Merrill’s sister, Ruth Garbus.
