The new commercial for the video game FIFA Soccer 12 perfectly chops up “Ice Cream,” the Matias Aguayo collab from Battles’ new album Gloss Drop, with footage of random people (including Steve Nash, Hope Solo, and Seth Meyers) playing the video game. It’s an extremely well-done commercial, even for those of us who don’t care much about soccer or video games. And anyway, the world needs more examples of electro-math-rock bands coming together with Canadian basketball stars. Watch it below.
Steve Nash’s “fuck, someone just scored on me” face is great. He rarely looks that perturbed in actual basketball games.

The new album may not be as good, but they are definitely more successful…
have to agree with this comment (galb’s). which is disappointing, because “Gloss Drop” is largely forgettable.
Surprised they didn’t use the opening keyboard riff right after all the ‘Ooh Ah Ooh ah’s. That moment is epic.
I’m only posting on this because Steve Nash is a baller.
David Silva is the spanish futball version of Steve Nash
I know I’m late to the party, but I just wanna go on the record as a Gloss Drop fan. It’s not as mind-bendingly mindbending as Mirrored, but it’s still a fun, unpredictable album that merits many repeated listens. Listen to Sweetie and Shag!
