Last night, New York rap group Das Racist appeared on late-night TV for the first time ever, doing “Michael Jackson” on Conan, and their performance involved the following things: An inexplicable podium, voice-warping effects, presumably-intentionally under-the-breath mumbled rap verses, two cute girls who just sort of flailed at cymbals for no reason, instrument-switching, self-bleeping, a Nirvana T-shirt, and an extended dub breakdown, during which an actual Michael Jackson impersonator moonwalked out onto the stage and kept the act up even after the song was over. It was great, obviously. Now watch it below.
The burning question: How did Fallon not get this performance first?

“an actual Michael Jackson impersonator”
As opposed to what, a FAKE Michael Jackson impersonator?
Way to hype the crowd on this one DR
this is the kinda thing that makes me happy DR is part of Rap Music. I love when Victor rolls his head on the keys. no matter what you think about their music – and i tend to think it’s better in concept than execution – you gotta admit they have maddddd charisma.
Totally, and I couldn’t describe it better. I love what these guys are doing and really dig their originality, but don’t really have any desire to see it live. This video kind of confirmed that, but I do still dig what they’re doing. Backhanded compliment, but whatever.
that’s yasmine kittles from tearist hitting those cymbals
When I saw this last night I didn’t think it was that good, but now its pretty cool. It stumbles a little bit but whatevs
