Toronto punkers Fucked Up, quite possibly the best active band on the face of the planet, are the headliners of next February’s floating punk-rock festival the Bruise Cruise, and frontman Damian Abraham is also serving as cruise director, whatever that could possibly mean. (An informed guess: It will involve professional wrestling in some capacity.) And to celebrate their involvement, the band has given the world a two-minute banger called “I Hate Summer.” Download “I Hate Summer” below.
The band has also taped a goofy commercial for the cruise, which you can watch here.

It’s a great track, but didn’t this come out in 2008?
Yes, it did. It was actually released on last years Couple Tracks singles compilation.
“quite possibly the best active band on the face of the planet.” Wow. And what planet is that?
I don’t get how big a deal they are either. I bought “The Chemistry of Common Life” and listened to it several times hoping to “get it”, but ended up taking nothing away from it except vocals I couldn’t make out and an overabundance of guitar noise.
Go see them live.
