Matt LeMay is the former frontman of the New York indie band Get Him Eat Him; he’s also a music critic and a guy I know a little bit. LeMay has just released his first single, and Nick Sylvester, Mr. Dream’s drummer and a great friend of mine, recorded it alongside LeMay. Both of the songs on the single are streaming below. “A Portrait Of The Man” is a jumpy, Ted Leo-esque power-pop song, and “What Would Change” is a tender, slowed-down joint. Both songs are totally good.
The single is available now at LeMay’s Soundcloud page.

Tom knows a lot of people, doesn’t he?
Not really. It’s just that all the people I know are awesome. (And it’s also a good idea to do full-disclosurey disclosures when you’re writing about your friends.)
Disclosure, huh. That’s actually a pretty good point. Can’t really not do that.
In cases where a name is mentioned merely to say you “know the guy a little bit”, like with Matt Lemay here or with Cass McCombs earlier, that’s not full disclosure, that’s name-dropping.
