Earlier this month, we posted “Roman In Moscow,” the frantic first single from Nicki Minaj’s forthcoming hard-rap throwdown Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. And now we’ve got another one: The equally dizzy “Stupid Hoe,” on which Nicki rips a lightspeed minimal-808 stomp to shreds. Nicki continues to have more fun rapping than just about anyone else. Listen below.

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is out 2/14 on Young Money.

At first I thought this was the title for her autobiography. Zing
She “spits” out good rhymes, but as a first single, it leaves a bit to be desired — Especially considering 2011 was a huge year for her due to “Superbass.” I believe Drake suggested she was going to return back to her fast rapping style, which is what this is, but the minimalist beat doesn’t do any of that a service. It kind of sounds empty and unfinished. I’m getting flashbacks of Kelly Clarkson’s My December, which could have capitalized on the success of “Since U Been Gone” but instead wanted to do a hard 180 on listeners. In a radio sense, I don’t see this being a hit, but I also don’t think it will lose her any fans.
Nicki’s a big enough artist now that people will follow regardless. She doesn’t have to make music that pander to listeners anymore; so it’s great she’s putting out what she wants.
Love Nicki! Always so fun. I’m also having some fun for the holidays – my new video is out. Check out ali-lee.com to hear my new song and see me in action. Thanks guys!
this is, quite honestly, one of the worst songs i’ve heard in recent memory.
