A couple of days ago, Wye Oak covered “Christmas Will Be Just Another Lonely Day” for the A.V. Club’s Holiday Undercover video series, in which bands cover Christmas tunes. And now their Merge labelmates the Mountain Goats — or really just leader John Darnielle, who gets to call himself “the Mountain Goats” because he did that for years — followed suit. Darnielle chose “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” playing it straight except for one short, mordant aside. Watch it below.
