The Shins first album since 2007′s Wincing The Night Away is imminent, and is also 2-for-2 (see: “Simple Song” and “September.”) Today Port Of Morrow turns up a third listen with its opening track, “The Rifle’s Spiral.” It’s a lusher production than the others — note the many bleeps, followed by the equally numerous bloops — though essentially it is still James Mercer, catchy and thoughtful and somewhat existentially minded, on another one that should please Shins fans. Hear it here.
The Shins’ Port Of Morrow — their first record not for Sub Pop — is out 3/20 via Columbia/Aural Apothecary.

The first 20 seconds send me a very strong “reminding me of another song” vibe but I can’t figure out what song it is reminding me of
Dance Hall by Modest Mouse
Reminds me of a broken bells song.
Yeah definitely a lot like Broken bells but that’s a good thing.
A good thing for sure
