On his show last night, David Letterman played host to an interesting collection of talent: Astral soul-queen Erykah Badu, star producer Mark Ronson, legendary Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste, and various and sundry Dap-Kings. They all got together to play a vintage-sounding bit of Louisiana jazz-funk called “A La Modeliste,” and it was all very Treme. Watch it below.
“A La Modeliste” comes from the new documentary Re:Generation, which is also responsible for that horror-movie pairing of the Doors and Skrillex.

They have a great sound together. Love that Mark Ronson is in on this.
If I could just meet Erykah Badu I’m pretty sure I could convince her to marry me. By the way…congrats to Mr. Modeliste for the anti-pecknold.
